Bring on the blue hats, I got somethin for em. For those who feel safe because congress would have to ratify it, remember Clinton did it with UN agenda 21 via executive order.

Sorry guys, I won't buy into the paranoia this is likely to produce. It means absolutely squat in the USA.

Exactly, the title of this thread is a little misleading.

The small arms treaty passed the UN General Assembly (which we all knew it would so this is really no surprise) it HASN'T passed the US Senate.

That's not to say that we still shouldn't be vigilant, but this isn't the end of the 2A.

It is a reminder that we really need to push a grassroots effort to get the US out of the UN and the UN out of the US.

Not to mention this same thing gets posted every 6 months for at least the past 3 years...

I believe that we do ourselves a dis-service by circulating and/or spreading this kind of bilge. All it will do is feed the fires of paranoia that contributed (created) the ammo shortages of several years ago. There is NO ammo shortage. The gun manufacturers are going full-bore, so much so that most are hundreds of thousands of orders behind. It is not likely to change.

I see the President of the conference is Nigerian. Maybe he should ban machetes in Nigeria. They hack to death women and children in Nigeria....

calm down fellas. My intent is certainly not to "mislead" or "spread bilge" or panic. The fact is this did constitute an update to this story, and I feel it dovetails well with Obeyme's "under the radar" gun control strategy.

I attempted to find a list of countries that signed the treaty, but the UN website that it took me too wasn't helpful. Does anyone have that list?

Are you going to write those countries some nasty letters?

Lol,

No, I am going to use them for debate material in a political science class, if they meet what I am looking for...

but now that you mention it, I may send some hate mail to them.

Chine, Russia and the US all refused to sign.

Chine, Russia and the US all refused to sign.

That is certainly helpful. I am trying to comprise a list of the countries that basically have the most human rights violations and oppress their citizens that signed it.

Also on a side note. I am not an economist but what is everyone's thoughts about what this will do to gun and ammo sales here in the US?
