So in talking with some of my reloading pals, some of whom might need counseling to control the habit, several have suggested that I set up a second station for rifle and developing loads.
The argument here is that I generically keep the progressive press setup for loading pistol ammo and really am not doing much if any load development. Literally just crank out rounds in volume.
While I know there are people out there who can change progressive setups in record time, I am not one of them. I tend to either take forever being super anal, or I rush through and end up having to go through the setup two or three times before I am happy.
What I am thinking of is a simple single stage press, separate powder measure, possibly a second case trimmer, etc., pretty much a completely separate station for load development and rifle loads. Considering a Lee Challenger O frame- had one before and it worked excellent for my needs- or maybe a turret press. Midway currently has the Challenger "kit" for 125 or so, which is almost a no-brainer.
Thought before I hit "add to cart" I would get some other views and input.
