When did people get the idea that they can tell you what you can put on your property. I just got a notice from the city that I cant park my boat in my driveway. Does anyone else see anything wrong with this? Apparently its a Denver ordinance that you cant park a trailer in the front 1/2 of your property. As a country we need to get our heads out of our asses and leave people alone.
Rant over.
On a side note. Please send me a pm if you have a cheap place near south denver (between downtown and Castlerock) where I can legally park my boat.

Build a removable skirt for your trailer that hides the wheels. Boom - boat stand, not a trailer.

Texas ain't all that, really, compared to Colorado. Especially some of their gun laws. I was born and raised there. The problem isn't Colorado so much as it is you live in Denver.
You live in Denver.. wtf did you expect

Rainbows & unicorns, not to much to ask. Just move the trailer in to the yard or side of house meeting the 1/2 requirement.
Oh yeah, you live in denver.

I guarantee you there are annoying and stupid laws just like that in Austin, Dallas, Ft Worth, and Houston.
And don't get me started on 30.06 signs.
No, Colorado outside of Denver or Boulder is not too shabby (of course if we move any farther left or especially if the libs finally get rid of TABOR it'll be time to look elsewhere, but even then for me it'll be Utah, Wyoming or Idaho, not Texas).

You can not even open carry in Texas and from working with folks in San Antonio,
Austin,West Teaxas and Houston, they dont have the luxury of shooting in NP or BLM and
have to go to ranges and be a member and pay everytime. Screw that.

I park my boat at a large lot just south of C-470 on Santa Fe. $125 per quarter. Cheaper than the $60 a month I was paying at a smaller lot.
And for what its worth, it ain't just Denver that says no boats on the property...

I'm pretty sure my parents keep there boat three. I know that there are 2/3 storage units there in that area. I got it easy. I have a one car garage and fit my boat and dirt bike in it. But in pee-eb-blo you can do what you want......

The only reason that I chose Texas is because I once heard that they have no zoning laws. I am not actually going to move there.

I'm not at home, so I can't look at my paperwork to give you an exact name and phone number. It is the large lot on the east side of Santa Fe at Norwood Drive. Completely fenced in and you have a personal access code to gain entrance 24/7. You move your boat or RV in and out whenever you want. If you look on Google maps, you will see it pretty readily. Big place.
There is also another place just south and on the west side of Santa Fe named Stor-Rite RV & Boat that appears to be an okay place. I called both when I was looking for a new home for my boat and this place was slow in getting back to me, and I went with the person who promptly called me back. Both were about the same in price.

"If I owned Texas and Hell, I would rent Texas and live in Hell"

Definitely Montana. I helped an old friend move to west Texas years ago when he retired. (He was born there. He couldn't help it.) It was in the summer and being outside was like being roasted. The bugs are huge and nasty. I helped him set up some prefab building so I got to see all the crawling horrors while working outside. Tarantulas, scorpions and all sorts of nasty huge things. It took about a month to get every last tick off me. I could mention snakes but that would deserve a whole new thread.

Not to mention the place is crawling with Texans.

I've been a Texan my whole life. I love the beautiful Edward's Aquifer region around Austin. That said, Texas has even more stupid laws than Colorado does. If I can find a job away from Colorado Springs and Denver before I get out of the Army, I'm going to try to stay in CO. Colorado gives me the opportunity to go to a college where I am allowed to carry. Texas doesn't. Colorado has public hunting & shooting land around every turn. Texas doesn't. Colorado has snow and mountains and mild summers. Texas doesn't. Colorado has open carry. Texas doesn't. The list goes on and on. Colorado is just a better fit for a 2-a loving outdoors freak like me. Don't move to Texas. You'll regret it.
Texas is great. If I weren't here I'd be in Dallas or San Antonio.

Screw Texas. I have only lived in one place I liked better than Colorado and it has effed up gun laws and outrageous cost of living. This is God's country except you happen to live in the cesspool of the state. ;-)
