Still hanging on by our teeth, but paying the bills and able to pick up some equipment here and there! So I guess it's working!
Funny, last night my parents had their last night in their grocery biz after 30 years, and I'm having my 3rd anniversary. They told me you always feel like you are hanging in by your teeth!
Anyway, thought I'd share! And thanks to you guys, the shop is plenty secure these days!! [ROFL1]

Your parents are right. I'm 11 years in now and still feel like we're just hanging on.
Congratulations on getting to three years. You're past the point now where most businesses fail.

Same here! I've noticed I'm more inclined to take my business to folks from here... I just wish I could give more of them my business... Someday, I might just go buy a junked out car and send it to you for work, Tin! Congrats on 3 years, believe it or not, that's a feat! [Beer]

Congrats! As has been mentioned, you're past the "hard part stage". This month is 2 years for my little biz, what a ride it's been!!
[BDay] (to the biz)
So uh... what do you do Tin? I should know this... sry.
Happy birthday to your business!
Congrats Tin! I'm still trying to find the time to come up there and check out your work.
I've got a project in mind that you might be interested in...
PM on the way.
Congrats!!
I had my German restoration and collision shop for 8 years in Chicago before moving to Colorado. You knowing how long resto's can take you know the work and frustrations that can come along with it. BUT, even after all the busted knuckles, banged up body parts, cuts, scrapes and problems with parts and vendors when that customer is walking abound that car for 30 minutes and hasn't stopped smiling because they are so happy with what you just did, yeah that makes it all worth it. There really is nothing more satisfying than that!
Where will you be moving to

Coming up on one year for me in another few months. I have paid the .gov more then I have paid myself. But soon I will have a shop and hopefully that will change. Then I will start paying my landlord more money then myself!
Grats Tin! But remember guys.......

I bet it feels amazing to be the man, instead of working for him! I'd love to be able to have my own business in a few years. Just gotta get some tooling first...

It has it perks.
BUT!,
I have no paid holidays, vacation, sick days, time off, personal days, health care, etc....
If you wanna get paid, you work. If you want to make it happen, you work weekends and don't get paid.! Trust me, many a day I wish I could work my 40, get my check and go home!

You win... Beautiful car, Porsche? Yeah, you can't work on my horn, a lot different than your work, lol. I bet you could make a piece of art though, great job on that car. You have access to a CnC? I've always wanted a stainless steel mouthpiece made, but the metal is too rough on instrument tooling, so the mpcs are too cost prohibitive. But stainless steel has great acoustical properties for mouthpieces...
