Good read, the comments are better.
Nationally the numbers are realistically hovering in the 16-20th percentile.

On the same line, a new Oblowme ad featuring a young hispanic who was laid off in Pueblo from a wind energy company. He is blaming Romney for cutting off funding for wind energy.
I would be curious to know if the company accepted any Federal funds ala Solyndra.
Damn near every company that did failed.
Just more misinformation.

Yup-sometimes I just shake my head when I read figures that are put out on the media (including polls ).
When I'm working at the food bank and talk to folks I get a much different picture than the one we see on the TV or internet. [Rant1]

Liars figure and figures are deceptative. The true unemployment is probably 20% plus where the media reports 9%.

I would rather have Obama than romney and his greedy skinny running mate that wants to take everyones social security away. I worked for mine. Their will be a civil war against republicans if they can social security. To hell with their kids and grand kids having to pay orr the national debt.
I could care less. Democrates own guns too rebubs.

There were many responses to his post also as I remember. Troll I would guess. The greed of everone trying to get some is rather frightening. I would like some SS too I paid in many years. I understand however that the trust was raided and the "money" gone. I dont expect a penny of benefits. My hope is that they wont raid the IRAs and 401ks.

I just saw that ad and haven't had time to research but can someone explain to me how Romney, who has not held political office recently, cut funding to anything?

I hate statistics cause they can be played anyway you want... Here's my questions;

What is the duration for these numbers? Is that this years numbers? August figures?
Aren't most of those counties main business "agriculture"? Didn't we have one of the driest years on record adversely affecting agriculture which could explain the high unemployment rate?

I'm not saying that we don't have a higher rate of people out of work than what is reported, cause those numbers that they present are also biased. Those numbers only include those collecting unemployment benefits. It doesn't count those that no longer qualify cause they've been unemployed so long they are no longer counted in the numbers.

Just sayin' all numbers and all "media" outlets always have a slant to how they present data...

Biederman is a finacial advisor (trimtabs) who has been tracking the IRS numbers of new employees and new w2s as a employment metric. His conclusion is that the employment numberswith their seasonal adjustments and their/ left the workforce denominator is a total sham. He asks a very valid question. the new w2s are absalotly empirical data for new job creation. The ending of income on a w2 is solid evidence of a job loss or at least income loss. The IRS has these numbers. Why dont we use these numbers? As you might guess the real numbers reflect much higher rates of unemployment than reported. Trimtabs however has a very poor track record for market calls. Dont fight the fed...
