Her name is Jessica Radcliffe I think.
I only miss the weather from the news. Now I have to take a look outside to determine how warm I need to dress.
I really only have the TV on when getting ready in the morning. Sad because I work in that industry.

The "news" and newspapers have become such a joke. Years ago misspelling a word or messing up a story would be a no-no now they dont care. The newspapers misspell shit, the stories are butchered up garbage that is worse then most 5 th graders blogs. The news channels (all of them) should be shut down. The local news is such a waste of time reporting BS the whole time and so ignoring the real news. Radio is almost as bad, i have done some work in a few stations and home broadcast studios. The npr people are the worst and at work they look like the night shoppers of walmart.

To my suprise the 7.8 number is probably legit.
http://www.shadowstats.com/article/an-analysis-of-withheld-income-employment-tax-receipts
However some analysts feel that this spike down is temporary hiring by retail for the holiday season and a subsequent spike up will occur in January. I would tend to agree with this analysis but what do i know ...

The missing girls house from the Amber ALert is only a few blocks from my house. I hope she's okay and wish I could of helped join the search. If anythings happened to her someones gonna pay. I do not know this girl or her family but it worries me for my own.

But how many gave up on the job hunt this month? Probably 5% either retired or went back to school or just went off the grid. A ridiculous number of people in their 50's and 60's just retire early now.

I am similarly concerned by this. What school was she on the way to, anyone know?

Did you just go on a rant about inaccuracy in the news, then grab 5% out of the air?
96% of meaningless statistics are made up on the spot...

Agree 100%. Real unemployment is probably 20% if you count the "no longer looking for work", underemployed and involuntary part time. Shadowstats has that number and the department of labor has their version of that number that they publish also. (that number makes the news very rarely). The mean salary of different levels of education in the last four years is interesting. If you equate higher salaries with more demand the jobs "created" in the last four years are jobs at the very top (masters) or jobs at the very bottom (no high school graduation). AA shows strong decrease and BA is flat. Food stamp recipients are at a all time high and continue to increase. A very bleak picture IMHO but you just have to walk out the door to see that.

Good point Irving, so here is the BLS release along with their U3 number 14.7%. Statistical manipulation seems rampant nowadays in both public and private sectors. I dont know what the solution is. Statistics seems to have become a science of lies not truth. Im not ready to just abandon statistics one the most useful evaluation tools we have eithor. You can look at shadowstats but that means you trust them to provide honest chart. Honest can be very subjective in statistics[Rant2]. Generally I strust shadowstats as they seem to have formed out of desire for a more truthful presentation of statistics.
