I've got a samsung Galaxy S2 skyrocket. While I love the phone for most applications one of the most consistent issues I have is that I have to delete e- mail twice.

I've synced it with a few e-mail accounts and as soon as I delete an e-mail I have new e-mail in my inbox. Once I've deleted each message twice it's gone, it's just a PITA to have to sort through all messages twice.

Especially if I just happen to click a fraction of a second off of the checkbox on the 16th message and open the damn e-mail after checking 15 mails. Because then it forgets all about the ones I checked for deletion.[Bang]

Anyone know how to fix this issue?

I'm sure it's the same as my old blackberry and my current iPhone, you go into the email settings and select delete from server.

You don't have the same account linked twice, do you?

Nope Ridge, 2 seperate accounts. Had to re-link them after the last OS update, and it's done it since I got it.

I seem to remember telling it to delete from server when I set up the account but I can't find where I specify that in the "settings" tab.

I have the same phone and dont have these issues, I think you should double check your e-mail settings.

Double and triple checked since I made this thread. Nowhere obvious does it allow me to specify the deletion of email on the server.

It's on there. It could also be in your email settings themselves if it's a pop or imap server (gmail) you can go into the settings on the actual website and select delete from server when deleted by mobile or something.. but it should be on you phone.. not when you're in the email app yourself but if you go into settings on your phone ..try that.

are you using the gmail sync? if it is gamil then you definitely have an issue, if you are using a pop mail or emap mail box then:

dump the factory email service and use k-9 mail from the app store. it was way better for me on my droids. i stopped using my phone to check email other than my friends and family's private email i set up for them.

dont need 200 emails a day on my phone.

It's yahoo mail which I think might be a pop server... It was when I configured it years ago (10) before yahoo decided to stop all pop3 forwarding services. I'll try to check...all I know is that it shows me all of my e-mail, but will only delete after I've deleted twice on my phone.

People still use Yahoo! email? Just get a Gmail account and move on with life. I don't have these problems and Gmail is already baked into the OS on Android phones.
