Sittin here watching "Avengers" got me to thinking-I wasn't a real comic fan when I was a kid but I did enjoy "Sgt Rock" and "Weird War" (favorite).
How 'bout y'all?
never got into comics. kind of before my time.
But the punisher would be my favorite
I had quite the collection of comic books in my younger days.
I didn't care for the DC stuff but I did like most of the Marvel ones.
My favorites were the X-Men, Alpha Flight, The Avengers, and Spider-man. Iron-man and the Fantastic Four were pretty cool too.

Ever spend the $1.49 for the battlefield set in the back?
Worth every bit of my allowance!

Several times, needed replacement troops after the major battles. Especially after the 4th. Of July............[LOL]
No, but I used to buy two issues of my favorite ones. One to read and one to bag up and keep "mint".

Just flew in from Chicago boy are my arms tired.
I'd add Mel Brooks just because no one else dared to make movies he did. With today's recycled movie of a movie no one would even touch
Blazing Saddles. Also his collaboration with Buck Henry on Get Smart.
Always liked Sgt. Rock and the Silver Surfer. When my boys were little, I got them hooked on The Tick.
Mel Brooks was fine until the mid 80's . Then something went wrong. Check out 'Life Stinks'
I was (am) a fan of a lot of Marvel, some Dark Horse, Valiant, some Image, a little DC...I have a pretty good collection. About a month ago I picked up a HC book that was printed in 1970: Batman from the 30s to the 70s. This really wasn't available to the public. Was found in libraries. It was a real nice overview of the history of Batman.

They have another that is an overview of Superman that I need to pick up. I really wasn't a fan of superman but it is interesting to read and see how the character progresses to where they are now.

Mine was a foeign one.
It was a dragon ball. I had no idea what they were saying, but had fun just looking at drawing. Of course I had to use lots of my imagination
I.think they now have it in English, but I am too old to read 30 comic books.

I've been reading web comics last few years.
Here's some good ones. Be forewarned: On some of these when I found it, I spent about 3 days straight getting caught up on the "back issues" from previous years!

Heh, I'm sorry Ridge, but that comic cover makes it look like the Pony King is saying "I WILL RAPE THE SHIT OUT OF YOU!!!"
For me it was Spidey and the Hulk...Hulk SMASH!

"Felix the Cat" had redeeming qualities[Muaha]
And yes, that pony has been on a tweek.....
I was a big "Silver Surfer" fan..
sgt rock
fightin army/marines
batman (dark knight , killing joke ,and pretty much the stuff after death in the family )
the watchmen
akira (yes it was a comic before the movie )
oh the list goes on seeing as im a big fan of comic books and graphic novels
GI Joe and X men for me...
I wasn't huge into comics, but in my youth there was one that I was all about- SPAWN. It was probably a little darker for someone who was 15, but hey, I enjoyed it- maybe that's the reason why I thought the movie sucked major ass... [Coffee]
Currently though, I really love Terminal Lance.
Never was into the superhero comics much, but I do believe it was Sgt. Rock that I had a big stack of, plus quite a few others, mostly Army type stuff. Wish I still had 'em.

I've never been into superheros either but I am caught on The Walking Dead. It's also the only comic that I've read before.

That a book about genital piercing?
I agree YAWN was a waste of 2 hrs, of anyones life.
I'm not afraid to admit this... my mom didn't allow comics. I guess she was afraid it would turn her kids into gun-toting, freedom-loving, patriots. [Tooth]
Having said that....
Anything Batman.
When I was a little older- and able to appreciate a bit more- anything by Frank Miller (he of 300 fame). Oh, he also did a Batman bit as well....

I got into Spawn bigtime... Still have the first 20, and got McFarlane to sign 3 of them...
All time favorite has to be The Sandman by Neil Gaiman.
Punisher was usually just mediocre IMHO, but with Garth Ennis writing, the Max series is among my all time favorites... brutal.
Also loved LOBO, Transmetropolitan, anything written by Frank Miller (Batman, 300, Sin City).
Ok, I mentioned I have a pretty good collection. Here is some original art that I have aquired over the years. This is from The Ultimates:

it is Tony Stark controlling the armor with a remote system.
Spider-Man, the one that started in the 90s and drawn by the Todd Mcfarlan guy
Here is a page from Dark Horse Aliens

Personally this is one of my favorites.
These 2 are both from the same issue and are hand painted:

Macross and Robotech comics.
This one is interesting as it has several parts to it. First there is a painted background and then there are several clear overlays that each have different painted parts. You can get a good idea of the printing process with this piece.

Enjoy most of Todd McFarlane and Frank Miller stuff, Heavy Metal and the little known but mighty Groo the Wanderer.
Here I have a number of pages from the same issue of The Punisher:

Pitt by Dale Keown was always my favorite, Todd Macfarlane's stuff was always good.
Did any of you get into The Maxx? Either the comic or the animated tv show?
I remember watching The Maxx and Aeon Flux on MTV when we first got cable when I was a kid. I don't remember much of it though.
Several times, needed replacement troops after the major battles. Especially after the 4th. Of July............[LOL]
Oh yeah, memories, lost a few good men do to black cats and bottle rockets...........
Just flew in from Chicago boy are my arms tired.

"............where all the white women at!"
Got to give some loving to Mel..............
Anyone mention Monty Python yet? they were the innovators of risque comedy.

I was a little old for Spawn, but like the "anti hero's" Spawn the comic book was a great anti hero. As with a lot of movies the the books were much better............
I was into the Sgt Rock, Punisher, Ghost Rider, night stalkers to name a few. ............... remember them all though. Good times, back when kids had to "read" and look at something printed on paper. [Coffee]
Did any of you get into The Maxx? Either the comic or the animated tv show?you bet , love the maxx . i remember when the maxx was on liquid television with was a great show , witch is why its off the air [Rant1]
