any guesses as to what it is? My thought is a tiny piece of metal from another mission, a destroyed satellite or something along those lines, but something from earth.

In the article they mentioned that the object was found after the rover use his drill for the first time.

Then, I know what it is, NASA bought the drill bit at Harbor Freight and its what's left of it!
