To lighten things up, let me share with you my minor obsession in slot cars, which since I have been back racing the past two years I havent done much of, but the 100' 4 laner in the basement is still there.

I built the track myself, its 100ft lane length, 4 lanes, built of wood with an epoxy surface, with individual power per lane and computer controlled timing and scoring which I also built. I have about 400 or so cars.

My next-to-last Chief (as in, CMS or E-9) was and I think still is big into slot cars too.
And it's probably just a coincidence but the guy in the black and white plaid shirt sure looks like a guy I used to work with...

Can I play
Sure the next time I hold an event I will make sure to send an invite. You dont build a big ass track with 4 lanes to play all by yourself...

Nice collection! I remember a lot of those cars- not inexpensive either. Scalextric?
I got a set as a kid for Christmas. My dad and his friends got to play with it for almost a week before I got to even touch it.
Still have it in its original box.

Holy shit dude!
That's impressive.
We ran them as kids, even into my late teens. Was a big gearhead back in the day.
there is a place here in pueblo that has one, you can rent the track and run your own car, borrow or buy a car from them, and they have points races weekly for the serious, it is fun and not real expensive.

I attend two different clubs that race regularly. It's free to race and attend. We give out loaner cars to get you started. There are about 10 tracks like mine that we rotate where the race will be held (greater Denver area).
This is my track (80 feet). We're racing here next Thursday if anyone is interested.

Freaking awesome. [Beer]
I spent many, many hours playing with slot cars as a kid, but I didn't have anything as badass as this. I just had a General Lee and Roscoe's cop car that chased it around. [Awesom]

I really hope those are the cars of your club not all yours personally. I not they have tv shows called hoarders you may want to check out. Just joking day that is mighty impressive set up and looks like good fun for not alot of dough all I know hobbies like this get out of control quicly like guns car and rc cars.

There used to be a place on south Broadway called Jimbo's.
My dad used to take me a few times a year and one year I even had a birthday party there. Pretty big event for a 7 or 8 year old.
Throwback to a simple time. I had an AFX track and my favorite car was a Chapparel.
Still couldn't compare to the big cars though.
I see a COAR 15 race night in your future......
Thanks for keeping a very good childhood memory and bit of Americana alive[Beer]

When I was stationed in Great Lakes (North Chicago) me and a buddy went
to a local slot car shop and racetrack on the weekends. They had a 100ft or maybe
bigger track and then a 20 ft or maybe longer drag strip with the light tree
and we had a blast. A pizza joint was next door and they served beer even to
us younger guys back then [Beer]
I wanna race!!!!!!!!!
I loved those as a kid...still have most of the sets (going back to the 70s) somewhere in storage.
i had the cheap ones as a kid, nothing as nice as that! Very sweet collection and set up you have there![Beer]

I know that somewhere in the garage or attic is a box with a couple of controllers and wing cars with Super 16D motors in them. Guess what I am going to be looking for this weekend.
Thanks for posting and reminding me a) how much fun those are and b) that I have some somewhere....
I loved slot cars. My dad used to take me in the 60s. Loved them when they were 1/25 scale. They were larger and look like real race cars of the time....
Got back into them in the early 90s and promptly gave it up. Cars were smaller and they didn't even look like cars. The bodies were lexan wedges and they didn't even have front wheels.
Then a few years ago, my bro-in-law built a track in his basement. Loved it again. More like what you have. Would love to do something like that if I had the space....

Thanks for all the comments guys! At some point in the near future I will host a race event and have you guys over for some racing.
Ronald which clubs do you run with?
DO I !....
Here's a video I made on the HO full size drag strip I used to have in my basement. I also used to have an 88' 4 lane HO road racing course with timing and such. Drag track has sensors/readings just like a real 1/4 mile track. That used to be a lot of fun.

Nice track you have there...
Here's just some of my functional HO scale drag cars:

MHOSA is racing at my house on Thursday and every other Thursday at a different house. They race BSRT G-Jet cars.
FRHO races every other Friday (mostly) and will be at my house next month. They race 5 different classes of T-Jet cars.
New comers are welcome and provided cars to race. Give me a PM with your email and I'll send you the information if interested.

Had a few different layouts of various brands (TYCO, Stromberg, etc.) when growing up and then when I could work and earn my own money along came the home builds of soldered brass frame scratch built cars that we raced and the local Revell Raceways.
I'm old.

I never got into HO stuff, everything i have is 1/32scale and non-magnet, with a couple of 1/24scale cars thrown in for kicks.
I usually run with RMSCC, and I used to host an event every couple of months, and have weekly or bi-weekly open track nights. Then Aidan was born and that ate up a lot of time, and then I went back to racing, and that killed the rest of anything resembling free time. I should spend a piece of the weekend getting the track back up and running this weekend, will be a lot of fun!
