Yeah, I'm starting it again, I'm predicting a solid whipping by Ryan. Biden is going to have some good numbers and the experience, but ultimately he is not prepared as well as Ryan, will have plenty of slip-ups and Bidenisms.

And If biden kicks Ryan's ass then what, You going to fly VFR tonight?

I'm not to up about the debate, too many things going on.
Even worse will be the R / O hometown debate, odds say they will stack the deck against Romney with "undecided" voters who happen to be registered D's

now he is telling the people how great obama did with the situation, how poorly Romney responded.

Ryan saying it took Obama 2 weeks to even call it a terrorist attack, wondering why the president even considers what the romney/ryan thinks and isn't taking care of business finding the people instead of talking to the UN.

Ryan thank our troops, we owe them for their service.

Biden and Obama have the same pin as well.

This is starting off pretty weak. It is more like a Fox news debate table which is just talks and talks instead of great points as to what is happening, what they are going to do about it. It is more of a pissing thread on how Obama acted, Biden supporting him, Ryan attacking him etc.

sniper7
10-11-2012, 19:12
You can tell Ryan is struggling a little bit to get the exact info out that he wants to say, he is kind of searching back to his recent debate training on a few things.

still talking about Iran, not really much going on, just a pretty peaceful talk amongst the 3. Biden saying Iran is getting the material but doesn't have the weapon.

Ryan, after lots of water....I think he will have to pee before this is over, says we need make sure they don't get the material, don't get the weapon and take action if necessary to keep them from doing so.

Exactly right, and if Bush had let those banks fail in 07-08 and not started the hugely wasteful TARP program then solvent banks would have purchased the assets and we'd be past the mess that we are still in now.

Businesses need a natural selection cycle just like plants and animals, the government interferes in the natural business cycle and it hurts everyone in the long run.

Sorry it took so long to check in- but as a former intelligence professional, I want to say a big FUCK YOU to VP Biden for throwing my intelligence community brothers and sisters under the bus by blaming them for a "failure" your goddamn administration caused! BTDTGTTS- it's learned in DAY ZERO: You must be very careful what you present to higher; say the wrong thing, report something prematurely, or give the wrong info and you spin up folks in the wrong direction- ensure you report the accurate information to those above you. If it took 24 hours to figure out it was a terrorist attack (and then that was decided as the final word)- so for those 24 hours, I know the intel folks who report to the WH put their index finger up and said "Give us a little more time, we don't have a definite answer for you at this time."

Medicare, Medicaid, and SS are unfunded liabilities to the tune of 100 Trillion plus. This means that the government has NO MONEY in reserve to pay for these promises.

We're entering the time when the baby boomers, the largest subset of the population, is entering the period of time when their medical costs start to sky rocket.

There are not enough people employed and earning enough money to pay the taxes required to cover these costs. These costs include the medications, doctors and nurses, and the GIANT government bureaucracy to administer these programs.

Some group of American citizens is going to have to pay the price. For 30 years both parties have been putting those costs on your children and grandchildren.

This is pissing me off- Biden doesn't know dick or shit about Afghanistan (I had to pause to cook dinner so I'm about 10min behind). He's never been to the REAL Afghanistan. The ANA and ANP (Afghan army and police) get paid IIRC (and this is as of 2009) $5/wk which is about the equivalent of someone making $40K/yr here, when AQ, the Taliban, The Haqqani Network (who we had on our radar since 2006 as an Anti-Coalition/Anti-Afghan Force aka Terrorists- but only this year Hillary the Dipshit declared them a terrorist group), etc. offer them $10/wk to kill Americans, they take the better paying deal. Afghans are just poor people- they're looking out for #1, them and their family. But they are also about the most lazy folks I've ever had the privilege of meeting and working with (anyone remember what I said last week about "Enshallah"?). I don't think this is a quick-fix type of situation where we can just pull out in 2014... It has to be conditional or the situation will deteriorate to a worse spot than it was in in the 1990's... They'll be bolstered because they'll be 2-0 against superpowers.

Biden? I'm gonna disagree with most of you. I think he did well. Surprisingly well. Not because anything he said was true of his administration but because he said very well what liberals want to hear. True or not that plays well with his/Obama's base. Yes, he was annoying, condescending and smug to anyone who cared to look objectively...but his base isn't interested in that.

So, from that perspective, Biden did much better than I thought he would and I seriously under-estimated his ability.

Ryan was pragmatic and stuck to specifics and facts.

I watched it, mostly because I thought it was going to be entertaining to watch a retard get poked with a stick. It did not go down as expected.

I was unimpressed by both of them. Biden was his typical bumbling self; every time he opened his mouth to let numbers fall out, they were the wrong ones. He was, however, passionate, decisive, and engaged by each topic. Ryan was cool and collected, avoided answering most questions directly, and generally seemed like a salesman who does not believe in the product.

Ryan should have had Biden crying by the end of his two minutes on the economy; all the numbers are there to make an indisputable case. Instead, he told a little anecdote that I can't even remember. He crushed Biden in the closing statements though. If I had to score it, I'd call it a draw.

ON ROMNEY'S TAX PLAN

BIDEN: It has never been done before.

RYAN: It's been done a couple of times, actually.

BIDEN: It has never been done before.

RYAN: Jack Kennedy lowered tax rates, increased growth. Ronald Reagan...

I thought on balance it was a draw. Ryan did very well not getting sucked into Biden's condescending wierdness. At times it seemed the moderator and Biden were both interrupting and challenging Ryan, sort of double-teaming. Moderator only challenged Biden a couple of times.

Biden's use of the "you're no Jack Kennedy" was inappropriate, as Ryan was only using an example of cooperation during the Kennedy years and not trying to channel Kennedy or represent what Kennedy said.

I think Biden opened up a new can of worms on Libya that Beeho probably wants to avoid. He threw the intelligence people under the bus and stated that at no time did the ambassador or others at the embassy ask for more security. The amazing thing about the intelligence is that it was obviously terrorism to anyone watching the news on 9/11 - pretending otherwise is either lying or incredibly stupid.

I do wish Ryan had challenged Biden on more things, but on countless occasions he was cut off by the moderator. For example, when Biden said the one thing you can count on from him is he always means what he says, I wish Ryan had brought up the "put you all in chains" and more recent "middle class has been slammed the last 4 years" comments. Biden brought up Romney's "47%" comment al least 5 times.

I felt Biden had more speaking time during the debate, which turned out to be the case afterward - but was turned off for Biden demanding equal time.

I expect that most undecideds (if they truly are undecided) will be at least partially influenced by Bidens arrogance/interruptions/condescention. Biden's performance will no doubt re-energize the Dem base, tho - which was probably the purpose.

That was Romneys story that Ryan told, and I think the family lived if I remember right, they were injured pretty bad and Romney invited them over for chirstmas and then offered to pay for the kids college.

That family is featured on Glenn Beck's show on the Blaze... I'll try to find it, but it wasn't so much a tear jerker as it was more of a story to prove what kind of a person Romney is... which, I honestly think, he's a pretty damn good guy.

I can't get past the used car salesman persona he presents. A few other republicans I've spoken to have said the same.

October surprise anyone?

^ This is certainly a possibility and a scary one at that.

A few rumors of an Iran strike in Oct.
