View Full Version : Suunto Core watches?
Thinking about buying one.
Does anyone here ones one?
Good?
Bad?
Battery life?
Worth It or should I just get one of those Casio G-Shocks?
Any input is greatly appreciated.

mine has been solid. 3 deployments and numerous hard use times (like field exercises, ranges, etc.) and it still keeps on ticking.
I have a new one on my wrist right now. The battery is user-serviceable, so that's an improvement. It also has a button lock, which helps in case you are like me and just end up walking around banging your watch on anything that looks tougher than it:
what's weaker than your watch? that wall right there. Give it a shot!
You really can't go wrong, but that's only if you really like the altimeter and compass features.
I also wear a GShock every now and then. It was a lot less money, and also has yet to be dstroyed by my wall smashing habit.
I bought one, tried it for a month, and opted to sell it and stay with a G-Shock when a plastic watch was called for. Watches are personal-taste items when it comes to choosing them, play with one in person, it might be perfect for you.
I got one on the super cheap in Afghanistan in 2009- It's still going strong, granted I only wear it for training and exercise (now exercise and shooting), it's not my daily watch, but still on original batteries and works like a charm! Go for it! [Beer]

I got my daily wear watch in 1983 and it's still going strong...and doesn't have any batteries at all ;)
Costco has cool Casio ( pathfinder) and G shock watches. Sometimes I see those suunto watches there. I love my g shock.

I don't have the Suunto you mentioned, but have a different one. Suuntos are really good watches. I've had mine for about 4 years, had to replace the battery once, and it is still going strong after 3 deployments to Iraq and Asskrackistan.
Thank you for the input guys!
