I have picked up in a trade a pair of Arisaka rifles.

One is a war souvenir, Mum intact, no import marks. Looks to be early war production with the adjustable rear sight and good wood. Definitely used but decently well taken care of.

The other has been sporterized, stock changed, etc. Its a good looking rifle and id an example of how gunsmiths took military surplus weapons and turned them from utilitarian battle rifles into nice looking sporting arms back in the 60's and 70's, which is my best guess as to when the conversion was done.

Not sure I am going to hang onto them and curious if anyone would have any input on what they might be worth or know anyone who might want them.

Ive seen t99's within the last year run for $250 in decent shape with mum intact.
And I also saw a beutifull sporerized one in one of the shops in NY before i left in june go for $300 my price- I was good friends with the shop owner.Mum still intact and bright crisp bore.

Somtimes you can find ones with the mum's ground off going for more than an un altered one-just depends on it condition, late war or early.
Somtimes theres no rhyme or reason to the prices.

Use many different online sources and shows to get a feel for whats selling for what.
