My range and store just called me to let me know a new model Full-size M&P is out and in stock. I stopped by this morning to see it.
Think of it as a 4.5" M&P Pro but with the Shield trigger instead of a Pro trigger (an upgrade in my opinion), and 3 magazines instead of the usual 2. Night sights the same as the 4.5" Pro. The initial units they received are 9mm, but I would think at least the .40 is also available now - if not the 45 or 357 Sig. I don't see any mention of it, or see this model on the S&W website. Doesn't appear to be a distributor special (like Talo).
Sells for about the same price as the Pro, but has the better trigger and xtra magazine - a pretty good deal. I had heard they would be putting the Shield trigger into the FS models, but didn't know it had happened until now.
BTW, the takeup and trigger break feel identical to my 9mm Shield. The reset is the same length as the Shield, but in my opinion not quite as crisp as the Shield. I have about 1500 rounds through the Shield, so that could be why, don't know.
