Family is basically GF and wife and I have gone paleo. Anyone else in the same boat? How's the food prepping going? Tips and pointers would be helpful. Thanks!

Same storage steps for your Rice and Corn flour, also the pasta.

I'm mostly paleo too, and it's a difficult prospect to have some food stores that are paleo.

What I've settled on is having canned/foil pack tuna/chicken/beef, canned fruits/veggies, and lots of healthy fats around. If I don't eat the canned stuff, I donate it yearly and buy some new stuff.

On top if that, I am planning on making buckets if long term storage rice and beans. If we are to that point, we won't be too concerned about eating non-paleo. I don't put away anything with gluten, it just makes me way too sick.

Costco has 5lbs of GF all purpose flour for $5, cheaper than I've seen it anywhere else. Their coach's oats are GF as well $6 for 6-7lbs??? Also, you can order Pams mixes in bulk on Amazon. Obviously the rice and beans are the most cost effective GF bulk items to store.

Forgot about the corn flour and kernels...I haven't found anywhere that doesn't get an arm and a leg for GF pasta. Let me know if you do[Beer]

Sams club has popcorn for $25 for 50 lbs. Makes great corn bread. Just need a good grinder. When I bought it a few years ago it was $16.

Real smart men stock gluten free foods when their wifes are gluten intolerant, or end up with real bitchy wives!

+1 for this place. Lots of GF. Plus, order $150 of stuff and get free shipping, a free FD soup and a free 20lb bag of brown rice. I ordered from them last week and they told me they were about 14 days behind on shipping because of the amount of orders, just FYI.

Also check out Honeyville Grain and beprepared.com for more GF options. I have family diagnosed celiac so I have been helping them find GF options.

I'll ask the wife. Kings, safeway and other stores stock it. We use RED'S rice & Corn flour.

Thanks for all the input, this is getting good.

I'm buying GF pasta whenever I see it on sale/close out at City Market.

Quinoa is also another good alternative to wheat. Pretty good, been used for thousands of years and is similar to rice.
