There have been a couple attempts earlier this year - same MO, same description (person and vehicle). Offers boys candy, drives a blue sedan. Sick...

I hope they catch him quick - keep your eyes open for the blue sedan in the picture on the 9news website.

BTW, like I said on another thread, this crap is on the rise....

Is that in the same area??
Could be a copycat. But it's probably some other scum, theres many of them out there.
With Holoween coming up parents should be on the alert and teach their children to be aware of these situations..

We've had 4 or 5 here in security/ fountain area in the last few months. Seems like it's a bunch of different people.

I hope the police catch them before parents do.

Edit: what am I saying. Skin them alive and spray them with vinegar.

With Holoween coming up parents should be on the alert and teach their children to be aware of these situations..Yeah that has me worried to. I am just going to make sure my kids stay next to me at all times, I will have my work uniform on (private security) and everything I carry at work (full duty belt) and just let my kids have their fun.

Would an attempted child abduction meet the criteria for "imminent bodily harm or death"?

These sick fvck just need to be removed from the human race, they are not "rehabilitatable".
Post haste.

Now I wouldn't say it's on the rise,it's allways been there-just more publicized and exploited now so it seems like it is getting worse.Plus everyone is seing bogey men around each corner.
Thank the MSM for all the extra paranoia.
Be wise and be safe..

Extra presence is a good thing.
I pray they catch these dregs of society...

No, but I think it says something specifically about kidnapping, so yes.

All I do is worry about my kids who are 2 and 5. I still check them numerous times through out the night, to make sure they have not stopped breathing in their sleep. I know I will never stop worrying about them. I was reassured of this by my parents who still worry about us.

I'd argue that better police work is also contributing to it. My grandma's 11 year old brother "ran away from home" never to be seen again in the 1940's. Something tells me that wasn't the case...

i know if someone goes after my kids they better hope that the police get to them before i do . lets just say being shot should be really low on their list of worries if get em first . people who prey on children really get me mad [Rant1][Rant2][Mad]

This!

Also, as kids we were told to never talk to strangers, and if a stranger did try and talk to you to find a parent and tell them. Unfortunately the awesomely mediocre parenting skills of the masses these days might actually encourage kids to trust the wrong people or welcome attention from strangers.

Last night while watching Ch9 news, we saw and heard about this alleged attempt and at that time I told the wife that quite often there are two sides to these stories. I had mentioned that the younger teenager COULD have possibly just thrown an object at the vehicle and the driver merely wanted to advise the kid the error of his ways and not even intend to lay a hand on him. Turns out even simpler than that. But, the mom did do the right thing with the cell phone camera just to be safe and sure. A lot of folks are acting with a "hair trigger" response right now and can't blame them one bit.

Looks like the guy was trying to get the kid to help stalk his girlfriend. He was trying to get the kid to knock on a girls door for him.

I'd rather skin them alive and then put them in a tank of alcohol, but vinegar would work. Or gasoline...be a damn shame if there was a stray spark after they got fished out.
