Hello everyone,
Just wanted to say hello and compliment you on your great website and forums here.
For anyone that is interested there is a new new Retro-Fit Piston Driven System on the market that bolts on to your existing AR-15. Most other manufacturers are making the consumer purchase the whole rifle, but this retro fit system will fit any AR-15 and is made to order depending on your barrel diameter.
Check out http://www.adamsarms.net for more information
Best Regards!

And as you are trolling your product, could you please inform the un-informed at this forum the advantages & disadvantages of converting an AR to a piston operated system?
I for one call BS to your "accuracy claims" & "reduction in recoil". Although I do admit, I am slightly biased, as I shoot .300 RUM on a regular basis, and the "recoil" from a 5.56 is, at best, meager in comparison. Not to mention I have a "good old fashioned" gas operated AR that will shoot a dime at 100 yds, so where does the accuracy claim come from?
Not trying to bash, but back your statements with some proof before your try to sell your goods...
~ Reduction in Recoil
~ Improved Accuracy due to the reduction of recoil
I think they mean improved follow up shots? I also fail to see how reduced recoil increases the inherrant accuracy of the gun.
If recoil is reduced, would the recoil spring not need replaced to function reliably?
Retro-Fit Piston Driven System for AR-15/M-16
$499.95
Additionally the Retro-Fit System offered by Adams Arms will save Law Enforcement, Private Citizens, and other entities thousands of dollars by offering a simple upgrade option, instead of costly replacements.
Combined total yes, but if you figure that a bushy piston driven upper is $950 and you sell your old upper cheap at $300. That's a $150 savings over a known manufacturer.
~ Our Retro-Fit Piston Driven System has undergone extensive stress testing for reliability in the most extreme conditions
How many front sight/Tactical response classes have you run one through without failure? From everything i've been told, those are EXTREME conditions.

Wow, you guys are mean ;-)
I agree with the logic behind saying that reoil reduction increases accuracy. They are not defining the accuracy of the rifle, but shooters in general.
Take the Knoxx shotgun stocks. The recoil is still there, you just don't feel it as much because the stock absorbs a good 35% of it. The result is that the shooter doesn't "panic" as much and can get back on target for a follow up shot, or can engage another target much faster.
I am not sure how this helps with a .223 with its neglagable recoil. But less recoil will increase reaction time no matter how light that recoil is to begin with. Less flinching is less flinching.
I have read that gas systems are supposed to be more reliable. I would say that remains to be proven in a battlefield or urban enviorment. But if you're a guy who needs to be on the cutting edge, and many of us are, then this is a great way to do that. Plus you get to keep your existing equipment. Some of us have trouble with paying that much for an upper only to sell it a year later for 1/3 the cost. Believe me, I will happily sell you a brand new Bushy Gas Piston upper (I have them on my website http://www.tacticalcity.com). But if you want to keep yours, this guy can help you upgrade it. That's not a bad option given the $1000+ sticker price of a new gas piston upper.
Hey, I don't sell this guy's product so there is nothing in it for me. It just sounds like you guys are tearing him a new one to me. I'm not sure that is fair. His product might not be your can of worms, but without evidence to the contrary, I would say it sounds like a decent product.
I am biting the bullet and getting my SBR converted by Jason at Adams Arms. What a small world, he and I grew up less than a mile from each other, now I live in NC. Weird. Oh well, when I get it back I will give you guys a full report with pix.
