Our office is looking to upgrade our phones and phone service. Do any of you have any good suggestions for services to look at besides Centurylink and Comcast?
Small office with 5-6 phone lines and 1 fax line.

Check out some of the commercial VOIP services. You'll get a ton of features for a lower price, as long as you have decent internet service. Something like http://www.vocalocity.com/ or http://www.vonage.com/us-canada-calling-plans/small-business-voip-unlimited/
The Vonage plan is specially set up with a fax line, forwarding to smart phones, etc.

Back when I needed shop lines I tried Qwest for two lines plus fax and data, they sucked and overbilled me on the regular. I had Comcast Business VOIP with 3 lines, dedicated fax number, and data and never had a single issue. I then moved out of that Comcast area and to have internet we again had to use Qwest, again it sucked but we did not use thier phone service, only internet and used VOIP (I think Vonage) and it worked OK.
I think we still have a VOIP line but its never used anymore.
VOIP is the way to go.. DO NOT USE XO COMMUNICATIONS! Their CS is ass and we have SO many problems..
VOIP
I use Ooma with good success. When I was looking at services, the mention of business service doubled the price.
obviously VOIP. Look in to Level3 and Integra Telecom. The Shoretel phone system is what we're using now and it's pretty slick. EvolveTechnologies in Boulder was our reseller for the actual phone system and support.
