.45 morning at the range, two weapons, HK45C @ ~1K+ rounds no failures to-date and a Kimber Classic Custom 1911 (Series 1) @ ~10K+ with only three failures I can recall in ~13 years (all ammo related). Both of these weapons are rock-solid.
HK45C:
84 rounds 230Gr std pressure Win White-box FMJ
16 rounds 230Gr std pressure Fed RN
8 rounds 230Gr Rem UMC
16 rounds [old-style] Fed Hydra's
8 rounds of old CorBon 185Gr +P ash-trays
33 rounds Win RA45TP
NO FAILURES
1911:
16 rounds 230gr std pressure Win White-box FMJ
34 rounds 230Gr std pressure Fed RN
8 rounds 230Gr Rem UMC
17 rounds Win RA45TP
NO FAILURES
Prior to shooting my defense ammo in each weapon I also slipped-in some Bitteroot Valley X-treme Defense 45 ACP 230 Grain JHP, a box I had picked-up earlier this year on a whim at show. My HK experienced issues (that freaked me out a bit) and then...the same with my 1911. I have 27 rounds of this crap sittin' here still...I gave up on it. I had multiple FTE on both platforms, 2 FTE's and one light-strike on the HK and 4 FTE's on the 1911...No limp-wristin' here and these weapons are PROVEN but...there are problems with this lot of BRV.
Not bashing BRV in general but...if you have this lot number...test it...I say it's pure shit and you should NOT TRUST IT. I'm saving these last 27 rounds, I'll hook up with one you some day and you can test it for cross-validation. BTW - those that went down-range...well...flyer's were a theme too.
In these pics...the 4 cases on the left failed in my 1911 and the 3 on the right in the HK and you can clearly see the light-strike as well.
