How about the Rampart Range riding area between Sedalia and Deckers? It's only about 18 miles from my house in Highlands Ranch
I've been stuck in LA for the last three weeks and could use a nice easy ride myself. I have to drop my wife off at the airport early in the morning on Suday and would be free all the rest of the day - its either shooting or riding after almost a month is LaLaLand.
sunday sounds good.
we've got a few days to talk a time and location.[Beer]

Are you planning to ride there or trailer there and then ride the trails?
using the trailer of course !
do you have a location in mind to meet up?
if so, post or IM the lat/long so I can plan accordingly.

If you're coming down Sante Fe or over from I-25 on C-470, a convenient place to meet is the gas station stop on Sante Fe just south of the C-470 intersection. I don't remember the name of the gas station but there's two of them on either side of the side road - one has a entry way directly off Sante Fe while the other one you have to turn roght at the light on Blakeland Dr. to go up to their entrance. The second one has some fast food places and I'll be in there tanking up (the car, the bike, and me). How about between 11:00 and 11:30?
I'll be pulling my trailer with the DR Z-400S behind a red Durango. If I get out today, I'll check on the name of the gas station
ok, I think I'm familliar with that gas station. I was just down that way this morning (waterton canyon)
Time is ok with me.. cu then

WTF??? No pictures of wrecks???? You all ride like pussies...[ROFL2]
left the camera in truck... pretty dusty so camera would have got messed up pretty quick.
we both put our bikes on their sides (different times/locations).... @ 0.00 MPH!
rampart range is used heavily... lots of loose ground/rock in places.

Yeah, I had such a good time that today is the first day I've been able to walk normally again. My thighs were toast.
It's kind of a real bitch that I let my bike hit the ground. I had stopped on a side hill and couldn't reach the ground with my downhill foot. By the time it did touch I had no strength to hold the bike up. Embarrasing, but the DR-Z400 has a real high seat height to begin with.
I'm just glad I didn't face-plant on a tree. I don't know what happened to 7idl because by the time I saw he wasn't behind me and turned around to go help he caught up.
There was a lot of loose and deep sand right out of tight bermed turns, which almost did me in once or twice, but we'll have to do it again. The main reason I bought my bike was to ride the 4x4 trails in the mountains - lots of good places out of Idaho Springs and Summit County.

I could be up for another session Saturday; it should be less traumatic since my battery is now charged. Also as I mentioned I'm a consultant and when not traveling on business can easily take off during the week.
Besides, I need all the leg strength I can get before heading out Elk hunting the 1st combined season.
