I just picked up a Leupold VXR patrol 1.25-4x20, and want to get this mounted up with a good mount. I've been looking at the LaRue LT104 (http://www.laruetactical.com/larue-tactical-spr-m4-scope-mount-qd-lt-104) and the Bobro precision extended (http://www.bobroengineering.com/view/product/8/) model. I've got a flattop upper receiver and top rail on my hand guard, with plenty of real estate, except that I'm currently running a magpul flip up sight (gen2) on the back... I've read conflicting reports that the magpul sight is too tall to work with the LaRue. I know the rear Troy flipups work with the LaRue, I've seen images. Anybody seen this problem with the magpul rear flip up? Worst case I'll have to drop another $100 on the rear troy sight...

The scope has a pretty big eye box, with eye relief specced at 4.2 to 3.8" so I don't think mounting at a somewhat forward location will matter too much. Anybody think I'll have cheek weld issues with either of these mounts? I've got a no frills carbine stock, BTW, but will eventually upgrade that too.

Both mounts get awesome reviews everywhere I've looked, and it seems like most people pick "their" brand after running both for a while. I don't have this luxury and would appreciate feedback.

Whatcha guys like? I appreciate any advice. [Beer]

I like ADM. Got 2; both work just like they should. [Beer]

I dont have any experience with that type of mount, however I do own a Larue mount for an acog (lt100) and it is top notch. Worth the money and you cant go wrong with Larue. + you get dillo dust lol

I have an LT104 and it is awesome. I have a Nikon M-223 mounted in it and it clears my gen 2 MBUS by about .5mm with the end caps on the scope. I can measure the clearance on mine tomorrow if you want.

If mounts are the questions, Larue is the answer.

I like the bobro actually more than anything else. Even though I'm a larue fanboi. Why?

1. It's one of the best machined gun parts in the world.
2. 0 messing around with settings. Clip on, go.
3. Good clamping.
4. It stays out of my turret view more than the larue.
5. Always easy to take off...regardless of the setting. Oh wait? What setting.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I remember a thread on this topic that must have been wiped in the crash. I like the ADM too but I just haven't seen as many reviews on those. Hopefully the discussion continues as others weigh in.

Yeah that would be very helpful if you could take a look at the clearance. Are you using the 1-4x20 M-223 HoneyBadger? On that model, I found a eye-bell diameter (H) of 40.64 mm on Midway. The (H) dimension on my scope is 40.34 mm. So I think it could work... but now that i'm thinking, our tube diameters are different by 4.6 mm... I'm not sure if LaRue mounts add more height to compensate for larger tubes.

I like the american defense as well. Zero issues so far. Also the mount doesn't mark up the reciever. The only Larue I have had was riser to 1/3 cowitness an eotech The mount cut into the finish on the rail and reciever.

Thanks again for the suggestions, guys. I went ahead and bought the LaRue LT104. This is a very nice mount. My dad recently bought the AMD mount for his hunting rig and also agrees that it's very high quality. I have to part ways from him when i can and try other things...

I had no clearance issues with my rear MBUS. Plenty of clearance as the picture shows. After playing around with this thing, it is very high quality.. obviously...

This is currently mounted on my 300BLK hunting gun, but I plan on swapping this back and forth on my 5.56 AR until I can save for an Aimpoint dedicated for that rifle. I'll update once I figure out how much zero shifts etc. when swapping.

I'm in the same boat. USO 1.5-6X will be here Monday. I'm thinking Bobro or LaRue, leaning towards Bobro.

I'm trying to figure out if I want the standard or extended. Having neither scope nor mount in my hands is making figuring this out difficult. My current scope is mounted so the end is just forward of the charging handle, and that seems about right. Any advice?

Never mind, I figured it out.

Damn that is nice. I want to do something like that on my rifle but really want to keep the front sight post too. Obviously something has to gibe right?
