I love soccer

I have always enjoyed college football, but jeeze soccer is growing on me fast. All weekend I watch Barclays league and Liga league re-runs, and love Lionel Messi. All I could think about is how In the hell do you stop this phenom? No one seems to be able to.

GAG! Soccer? man I hate this insidious, dull, creeping, low scoring so called world sport. BLAH! my sons school has now banned footballs while of course fostering the playing of that so called game. The rising popularity of soccer began where else but Kalifornia where football was deemed to aggressive and violent for burgeoning young liberal elites. I really really hate that game. *rant off*

Played all through HS back n NY,,#1 goalie for 3yrs
There used to be a Dr Peepper jamboree every year.
NY Cosmos and Vancocer White Cap plyers would give clinic then,,greatest rivals too.
Back then was the NASL
Pele came up one year,, my time was spent with Messing,,Cosmos Goalie.
Coached 12yr olds,,refered...even played in the USMC team 1 yr.

Playing soccer, you realize that it is a full contact sport. Elbows, leg kicks, punches, head butts, it's hard to see while watching but is there out on the field. Yeah, i use to say soccer was a pussy sport too, until i actually played....

I think soccer takes more preparation, finesse, athleticism, then any other sport in the world. Guys like Messi and Rolnaldo are the best athletes in the world.

Yes,, but Shep Messing was THE Goalie,,and playing that position ,,he was my hero off the
NY Cosmos,team.also Jim May of the Rochester Lancers,,Shep played for them a little later.

[ROFL1] That has to be a joke, right? (For reference and because I don't want to hear all you soccer fans bitch and moan, I played soccer for two years in my youth before selecting sports I actually wanted to stick with.) I'm not saying these people aren't talented, they are professional athletes which puts them at a higher level, it takes skill and dedication to play at the professional level in ANY sport. But to say they are more athletic or prepared than any other athlete in the world, just because you like to watch them, might be the most ridiculous thing I have ever read.

Between professional hockey players or pro lacrosse for that matter soccer players are spoiled little cry-babys. Especially Cristiano Ronaldo he only even plays 1/2 the time and flops around holding his shin if someone takes the ball from him.

Ever watched Didier Drogba? He is twice the pure athlete than either of those two.
