Denver probate attorney recommendation

Does anyone have a referrals for a good family law/ probate attorney in denver?

My issue:

My dad recently passed, had no will ( well he had an old one that was written in 1974 when it was just my mom who was deceased in 1992 and myself as hiers )
Its going to be a messy deal with regard to my mother in law and her two kids who he adopted.

I have no idea where any of his stuff is, how to find it or anything.

That can be a problem. My Dad also wrote a will in 73 or 74. I was an only child and his estate was worth about half a million. He told me he was leaving me the property and my Mom would get the bank accounts, cars and liquid assets. She lives on the East coast and had an attorney who told her she could keep everything, so I didn't get a dime. Good luck.

Not long ago, I had a client for whom I drafted a will with a long list of specific bequests. Most of which was property - both real and personal - that had another person as joint tenant who was not the intended beneficiary.

I also prepared the docs/deeds to sever the joint tenancy so that the client's will would actually take effect on those items of property as intended.

Client never signed those docs. Didn't bother. When client died, none of those bequests took effect because joint tenancy means that the surviving joint tenant is presumed to own the whole.

If in Denver, go to the probate counter, they have a binder with about 30 attorneys in it. Details, hourly rate/flat rate etc. No particular recommendation, just some of the local attorneys that wanted to sell their skills.
