near wetmore in custer county, the smoke is thick here in pueblo, the whole town of wetmore has been evacuated they just said on the news.
Custer County officials confirm they are working a severe wildfire near Wetmore.
The fire is just off of Hwy 96 near mile marker 24. The Custer County Sheriff's office also says they have started evacuations in the Wetmore area.
Colorado State Patrol says all roads leading into Wetmore are closed at this point. Both lanes of Highway 96 are closed in both directions at the Reservoir.
Highway 165 West is closed and Highway 67 S Florence is also closed.

Winds 15-30 sustained, gusts to 75 possible at higher elevation...

Bad conditions for fire..prayers out to those affected, I'll see it from my house when I get home.

Just heard from a firefighter there, 15 structures lost as of 30 minutes ago.

Me and my Wife thought we seen smoke in the mountains on the way home from Eaton today, I wonder if that is what it was? I am not familiar with Wetmore nor have I ever heard of it. Can the smoke be seen from the Eaton area?

has grown to 1000 acres in 7 hours, and the weather man says winds up to 75mph tomorrow, not good.

Hwy 96 is still open to Intersection of 165/96 for now. The road is closed beyond that point. I was thru there a hour ago and I saw no smoke no fire, trucks Nothing!
Just lots of wind
