I just bought a Volquartsen Action Parts Kit for my Ruger 10/22 and a Volquartsen Accurizing Kit for my Ruger Mark 111 pistol from Midway. I will install them this weekend and from the information from Midways web site this should not be too difficult.
Has anybody had any experence with the installation or results with these kits?
Thanks, Jim

The 10/22 is pretty straight forward and simple.

The Mark III has a few mousetraps. Take lots of digital pics along the way and label each part when it comes out.

I installed these trigger kits they are a tremendous improvement over the factory pieces. They weren’t too difficult but there were a few issues.
On the 10/22:
The instructions were vague and they did not supply an exploded diagram but the Midway master catalog had one in it and it helped. Midway also has a rate the product icon and there was a lot of helpful information there. The biggest issue was the sear was a little bit large so the safety did not work, I used a sharpening stone to remove the excess metal until I had enough clearance and it works fine now. The new hammer spring goes on top of the hammer and the instructions implies it goes in front.

On the Mark III:
I took Tom Freemans advice and it paid off. The instructions were OK but the exploded diagram supplied was very small and I think it was for a Mark I or II because some of the parts pictured are different. The only problem I had was when I put it together and tested it out the trigger did not work every time. I took the barrel off and looked at how all of the parts worked together and found the problem was with the disconnector. The plunger spring supplied with the kit is not as strong as the Ruger spring; I replaced it and solved the problem.

Hi Allan,
I've been off the board for awhile and just saw this old post. I put one of the kits on my Ruger Mark III and had no problems at all. Of course I cheated! I have a friend who's really into the Ruger pistols and let him do it. It went together with only minor fiddling and we didn't have a problem with any of the springs. At the range, the new trigger is awesome. My groups definitely shrunk a noticable amount.

The only issue with it is it's now not a beginner's gun. There's no way I could let someone learn to shoot with it because it's too sensitive. I'll have to let new shooters practice with my Mosquito before even thinking about letting them shoot the Ruger.

Bottom line, head shots on rabbits and squirels are going to be easy.
