I'm leaning towards the standard LMT BCG. I understand they have a good reputation for quality parts. The other BCG I'm looking at is a Bravo Company. If any of you have actual experience running any of these two, I'd like to hear the Pro's and Con's. Thanks for reading and looking forward to some informative responses.

I think they are very similar, although LMT definitely is very good quality and I believe test fire every single bolt as well as MPI (and provide the results) etc. The price is similar between the units so I think its a preference sort of thing. Others here may have more insight.

Used both and haven't had an issue with either.

I've heard and read that the gas key on the LMTs are MIM which I couldn't possible care less about. The LMTs also have large spool firing pins as I understand was part of the original Stoner design and not the neutered ones we see more commonly that were made to work with unshrouded bolt carrier groups.

That said, I currently have both and can't complain about either through 3500 + rounds. I purchased the LMT because the BCMs were out of stock. And it was $5 cheaper.

Yes... LMT uses the MIM key... but I have not seen a single piece of evidence, or anecdotal story even about that key failing.

The firing pin seems to come mixed. I have 2 LMTs, one of each style pin. Again, I don't see any reason to care.

And now-a-days you can find LMTs for $30-$35 cheaper. Still like all three of my BCM BCGs, but I wouldn't hesitate to add to my pair of LMTs.

Thanks for the replies everyone! Well, I went to purchase the LMT BCG this morning and they're sold out. Yesterday they were in stock. Go figure, my luck. I did find an alternative from Midway that's comparable in advertised quality and perhaps even a little better at a lower cost, too. Thanks again and this is why I became a member of this group!

I have been running the BCM bolt carriers with no problems. The article about the "filthy fourteen" rifle really sold me on their products. Plus, their customer service is top notch.

Both LMT and BCM make quality products. I wouldn't hesitate to use either.
