It just about seems like I'm the only person in the whole wide world, who enjoys them. I had a snake skin belt that I wore fairly often, and I had a rabbit fur lined mad bomber hat as a kid that I loved so much.

By exotic leathers, I basically mean any non-cow leather. So what do you guys think of them?

My wife has furs she really enjoys but is afraid to wear them at times.

Snakeskin looks great new, but tends to wear out quick whereupon it looks so bad they won't even accept it at the thrift store.

Used a cow-hide and Kangaroo leather race suits when I used to race. The Kangaroo stuff is lighter and stronger...

... some of those stingray skins is one of the neat ones to... very durable! I've crashed a few times with my stingray skin palmed gloves on (even at 100+mph) and they held up very well.

... so I have trouble staying upright on 2 wheels [ROFL1]

On me, nay. Just not a fan but I'm definitely not against others wearing them.

The proper term is: Assless chaps..........[Tooth]

All chaps are ass-less. If they weren't, they'd be pants.

I currently own of have owned ostrich, alligator, shark, kangaroo, and elephant. They are all nice but for comfort I enjoy the ostrich, but they are all nice once broken in. FYI alligator and elephant take forever to break in.

I actually really like them but think I look like a dork wearing them (same thing goes for hats).

I have a pr of kangaroo leather boots with sharkskin capped toes for pheasant hunting. Tough as nails. Leather boots get tore up walking through brambles and smart grass. The kangaroo and sharkskin doesn't even get scratched.

I like plain old cow and deer leather. No greater moral objections to the exotics, they just don't appeal to me much.

I have a very good friend who runs a high-end gun shop in Florida, and happens to be a quasi-Vegan, in the sense that he does not generally eat meat/milk/eggs, although he makes exceptions from time-to-time out of necessity. He is also proof that you can be a vegetarian and still not be healthy, because his lunch at the 2008 Shot Show consisted of two orders of fries and a bag of potato chips.

But I digress... When he bought his first Nighthawk, he decided to have a custom holster made for it. I believe it was out of elephant skin. It took forever for the holster to arrive, during which time we teased him endlessly about waiting for the elephant to die of natural causes to appease his vegan sensibilities. Also, we asked if it was going to be lined with Condor feathers.

Ostrich may be the most comfortable, but it looks like your boots are afflicted with boils where it was plucked.

Looks good but I'm too cheap to pay the extra $ for exotic leather.

I've had snakeskin and goat hide boots. The snakeskin looked cool, but not very durable. The goat hide was great, but I may have to try a pair of sharkskins.

The only objection I'd ever have to fur is paying for it...[ROFL1]

Love fur and leather and so does the wife. Just can't afford it right now.
