So we are doing some remodeling to the house before it goes on the market. We have already done a lot but are now down to the majors, kitchen and master bath.
I need to put in all new kitchen counters. We are going with laminate/formica. Staying away from stone and slabs since we are not staying and want to keep the cost down.
Do I use Lowes/ Home Depot? Find an independent? Anyone on here do it that is close to lovland/berthoud??
Any input would be awesome! Thanks Gents. [Beer]
I will also be seeking a tile guy in the future for our master bath!
Best,
Tin

A friend of mine does it but he may be out numerous weeks due to his new construction contract. I can talk to him tomorrow and see.
Wife and I were talking about installing new kitchen counters yesterday. Interested in responses to this topic as well.
Only a guess, but I would imagine for standard laminate you will find the best prices at HD or Lowes. Your obviously handy so I'm sure you can figure out how to cut them and make the fit and finish look better.
Since you're selling the house anyways, I say go to Lowes or Home Depot and pick out what you want and install it yourself. It should be a quick, simple project for a man of your talents. Even if you've never done it before.

I put in off the shelf ones from HD. After 10 years on the remodel I think I am going to replace them. Not hard to do. They look OK and work just fine but someone put a burn spot on one while I was TDY.
I understand many just have to have the latest and greatest but I did my whole kitchen for what one counter top costs in some kitchens and it made no sense to try and put a $20K kitchen in a $120K house.

Well.... I did the same thing while trying to sell a house 2 years ago. Put myself some nice Corian (or something close / 900$) in the kitchen: 0 offer after 4 weeks (one extra month carrying the mortgage and having to make myself available for questions, cleaning, etc).
One guy at Home depot told me I could have a super discount on stone counter top if my kitchen was a plain 10X10 with only one cut and simple edge (1500$ installed): House sold in one weekend!
And I was able to resell the Corian for 550$ to one of my neighbor (same house, same floor plan)
My point: if you are in a hurry to sell use the good looking stuff.

Lowes sends most of their local laminate stuff to Colorado Counter Tops on E 38th.
I've used them many times via Lowes, and have decided to go straight to the source next time. Great prices, service, and quality.
Won't find a better deal.

Thanks for all the replies guys!
I'm really looking to buy it and have it installed. I know I could get thru it, but someone with more experience can knock it out way faster than me.!
And we also have quite a bit of counter top space, so I want with as few seems as possible. Which means we will probably have to order sections.

Check with TimK, he does cabinets, but I'm sure he has a CT guy. Tag, I'm interested too.
My dads neighbor does amazing work. Big gun guy, one if us essentially just not on the site!
