I've been looking at a M&W M&P9c and I'm wondering if anyone has had possitive luck with buying guns online ie budsguns, gunbroker, cheaperthandirt, ect. The savings look great, but I'm wondering if just buying local knowing what your buying and being able to know what it is, is more worth the $100 or more savings I'm finding online?
Thanks
A few of the local shops here in Lonetree/Centennial area have it at full retail price of $569. I've found it online for $465

$509 at Firing Line.
I've done both, never had any problems. Just prefer to buy local as much as possible to support the local FFLs and stores.
A deal is a deal - on-line you pay FFL transfer and shipping, local you pay taxes. The worst part (for me) about on-line buying is that you have to wait... :( LOL...
Still - over $100 off on-line??? Not bad..

Support your local gunshop if you can. You probably won't beat the online price locally but you'll be close after you include shipping and ffl fee. Plus at a store you can SEE and TOUCH the gun you're interested in. Online doesn't have feelovsion yet.
There, I made up another word. :)
I got mine at buds, if you are mil. leo or a host of other public service professions they are $398.00 if not they are $473.00 both prices shipped

Only till they get the kinks out of Smell O Vision.
I have used Kentucky Gun for numerous guns. Never had a problem and they have free shipping on a lot of their stuff.

You perv, we're never shaking hands again!
Buds is first rate if they have what you want in stock
Gunbroker is good (just have a peek at the feedback score of the vendor)
Sporting Arms (in TX) is very good (http://www.sportingarms.com)

In general, new guns are not "on" the website.

Well I think I will keep looking locally and maybe try to figure some way out to make up the difference. I always like the idea of local also, but $100 bucks off is a bit of ammo or a holster:P Thanks for the replys on good online experiences.

Local brick and mortar cannot beat online price for the most part, nor do you get the customer service or personal advice and interaction. Nor do you get the free range time immediately after purchase.

Would have loved to but when ya call 3 stores and 2 give you the "What is that?" and one goes "Oh no, but we can order it for you and you have to pay the xfer fee because it is a non stocked item".........
I bought it from Bud's.

Online is easy, whip out the CC and pay the man. Do the funky form and git yer gun on.

I know what you mean. You took the pains to get them a chance and they blew it.

Yes but at an online store they can't treat you like shit and think they know more.. They don't care if you're a SSDG or a beginner.. their snide remarks and attitude never cross the confirmation page.
I never received free range time at FL after a purchase.. [Coffee]

If I didn't you would think so much less of me[Tooth]
Have you thought of asking one of the industry partners or any of the FFL's on the board?
I have bought from Buds and G&R Tactical with no problems.

and as for using the 100.00+ saved by buying online, the indoor range down here is 80.00 a year. so the savings will buy you a one year membership, and a box or two of ammo to get your new toy broke in.

I have seen the guys at Machine Gun Tours order guns for customers and give them an internet matching price.

Haven't asked anyone to send it to yet but I'd have a pretty good idea of which FFL I'd go though. I have a friend that could help me out. I think I'll keep looking local and either go though a private sale or local shop.
Rapid Fire Bunker is right down the road from us in the 'hood. $15 transfers and it was painless.
I ordered what I wanted, called them and gave them the info of who was shipping. I'd imagine they faxed a copy of their FFL to the shipper and it was done. Two days later I had a lovely new sig..
Hell I barely made it there before they closed but they still stayed till it was done and even shot the shit.. No one was trying to rush me out.
GunBroker is a pretty easy site and all the Sellers I have ordered from had the process spelled out where even idiots could understand it.. [Tooth]
