View Full Version : lack of info , bush vs. obummer
so is it just me or is there a lack of info concerning wars since 2009 on the web ? if a republican was in office , death tolls and other losses would be all over the place . also when bush was in office the left screamed "bush lies and people die " (this being a reference to afghanistan ) . but since obummer took office the death toll has almost tripled in afghanistan alone .
i have been trying to find some numbers and everything seems to stop at jan of 09 [Bang] . are places like goolge and wikipedia leftist ?
or maybe my google-fu is off today

actually, the "Bush Lied and people died." thing was in reference to the invasion of Iraq. It was reported that Saddam had WMDs, No Assembled weapons were ever (reportedly) found.
Now, I believe he had 'something', Saddam had developed something new and tasty, he wouldn't sell/share it, so we went over and took it by force.
all the best weapons are developed for/during war, they had been at war with Iran since forever

How about the fact that when Bush was in office there were almost daily protests to the wars, Cindy Sheehan was on the news near daily.
O gets in and all the protests dissapear.
Obama is Bush III is alot of ways, Obama has continued the Bush policy in Iraq / Afghanistan. The media doesn't want the public to know this so they shut up about it.

The bias and insincerity of the left is presented in this post. Izvestia and Pravda would be proud.
Alot of the complaints were about Iraq. I don't agree with Byte and think we had no justification for that invasion. If something had been found it would have been prominently displayed "see, we needed to do this."
Iraq drained men and resources that could have been pumped into Afghanistan. We have every right to be in Afghanistan. It may not be wise to be there but we were in the right to go.

People have lost intrest, in Afghanistan. Just how they did in Iraq, although people still are dying it's not as much as it was in 2009 early 2010. To the point where it cannot justify its own graphic on the major news networks.

With all the sabre rattling of the US and other countries + the numerous warnings, consider what ever they did have was moved. Long before any western country entered Iraq.
Did they have wmd's?? perhaps, i do not believe they had them to the extent we 'though" they had them.
REMEMBER even Democrats were insistent Hussien had WMD's and it was imperative we find & destroy them , IF he did not voluntarily give them up.
Regarding afganistan , we should have removed numerous ruling heads of state and military personal from Saudi Arabia after 9/11.
THIS BULLSHIT of freezing OBL's families bank accounts was a waste of media space. We know where the majority of the 9/11 attackers were from. Going in to another country was & is a waste of time. Sure they are hidden in the mountains. Knowing this we should have also eliminated Taliban "Friendly" .mil and .gov people from pakistan.
WHY put more ICE agents along the canadian border to stop illegal immigrants instead of the mexican one, same train of thought. ??
Yes i am, and have advocated surgical removal of .gov & .mil of foreign countries. It could have been done had we not been so weak, intel wise regarding the ME. Unfortunately Islam is so deeply rooted in the ME and other places in the world it would have only slowed them down. Couple this with .gov sympathizers here in the US and i doubt we will ever see successful victory.

Saddam needed to be exterminated whether their was anything found or not. History has proven he had bad shit. I believe we sqaunderd a great opportunity in douchebagistan though, with all the media attention on iraq we could have gotten our shit handled in the stan and been done. Instead we spent a lot of time/money/lives trying to make friends with people that laughed at us for trying and cant wait for us to leave. They will never be our friends, we cant turn our backs on them without being shanked. Their are some good people there but thats not our fight or our business.

And now that Saddam and Ghadafi plus a couple other of the nefarious leaders(whose names escape me) have been removed what do we have?
A middle east in total upheaval.
As ugly as they are, they serve a very useful purpose. Their brutality kept the peace.

Saddam's supposed possession of WMD was reported by numerous intelligence agencies world-wide. Jordan, Russian, Brit, US, Israel and more were all certain that he had WMD and would use them in the region. He DID use chemical WMD against his own people in Northern Iraq. It was also reported that he purposely inflated reports of amounts in his possession in order to frighten his neighbors in the region. It makes perfect sense all taken together, and WMD was only one of the many reasons we went in there.

The media is doing its best to drag Obama across the finish line. Its bias is overt and unhidden.
Iraq drained men and resources that could have been pumped into Afghanistan.
Not really true, there was and is a limit to what could be deployed to Afghanistan given the terrain and poor logistics infrastructure.

Yep, and I'm tired of all this WMD talk... he had them, but you don't accuse someone of possession of narcotics unless you actually catch them with narcotics- what they're not able to do is to check the neighbor's house... Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying, look at Iraq's neighbors, would you have illegal stuff in your house when the cops announce they're going to come search the very next day? No, you'd get rid of that stuff. The search teams did find storage facilities that had once held chemical weapons (trace amounts and empty storage containers)... And if you still don't believe he had WMDs I invite you to ask the Kurds of their opinion on the matter.

You mean THE MEDIA have lost interest, which is pretty much Byte's point. They don't want the public interested in death tolls how that their golden boy is in office. It's pretty stark -- coverage of deaths in combat or from IEDs basically stopped immediately after the 2009 Inaugural. To this day, there's precious little mention of Benghazi or combat deaths on ABCNNBCBS.
AMEN to that - Iraq was keen to fly Soviet made aircraft to Iran to avoid giving them up to the US - stands to reason that WMDs were also given to other countries. Even if not, what is a WMD anyway? Chemical or nuclear - same thing. We know Saddam used chemical weapons on his people and on the Kurds. I think the only reason he didn't use them on us in the first Gulf War (I say "us" cause I was there) was because our retaliation would be nuclear... At the end of the day, a dictator is a bully - the best way to stop a bully is simply to stand up to them.
Obama was seen as the liberal "savior" for the media and the liberal masses. But he's just another man, and inept as president.
The "apology" tour is a key ingredient to our current ME situation. But let's face it - since after WWII, has the ME ever been stable??? What is the common denominator?
OIL...
Give them money, and they are a problem - take away their money, and they are nothing (again)...
Oil makes the world go round (literally).
Bush vs. Obummer? The media is enamored with it's "savior", so it isn't surprising in the least to me that mainstream media isn't talking about facts.
