I just bought a 9mm sig p239 and have noticed a great deal of slop between the slide and frame. It rattles quite a bit without a mag in. I shot it and it works just fine though and still has good accuracy. My question is does anybody else have this kind of slop between their frame and slide on their 9mms? I have 2 p239s in the .357 sig and they are very tight, no movement whatsoever.
my .40 doesn't rattle one bit..

I have a P239 in .40 SW and there is some play between the slide and frame. More so than any of my other Sigs. I'm thinking of sending it to Sig to see if they can tighten it a bit.

While it may be annoying it is not as critical on the SIG as say a 1911. SIG uses a ramp style barrel lock up where the frame is the primary locking surface.
As long as the breech has no obvious movement when the slide is fully in battery I would not sweat it too much.

Yeah i thought about talking to sig as well to see if it is normal or if they could do anything about it, let me know if you do send yours back , i would like to know their feedback. I did take it apart and inspected it thoroughly and it looks fantastic actually. It almost just seems like the slide grooves were machined smaller than the other slides I have. Yeah i think you are right BP, everything is functioning fine and seems good i may just run with it for a while and see how it wears.
