My lightest ar is about 6lbs "I think" Ill weigh it later though. I was just looking at super lite ar's and the lightest AR Ive seen on the net was just 4lbs with aimpoint t1. Im just wondering If any of you guys have ar's on serious diets and what are your specs, I'm thinking of building a 100% reliable superlite for bug out maybe SBR

Stock Colt 6520. Book says it's 5.8 lbs. If it had A1 sights it might be the perfect AR.

Lightest is probably an SBR with a crappy plastic plum crazy lower....My 16" BCM with Comp M4 is 7.2 lbs unloaded. I do like light, but not willing to go lighter at all costs...

Mine weighs in a a hefty 14.8 lbs before optics.
20" full bull barrel with A2 stock filled with lead to balance.
Add scope and bi-pod and it is just a touch over 15 lbs.

Perhaps we should get together and compare. [Beer]

When we went to the A-2 we gave a bunch of A-1's to Israel. They cut the barrel to 13 or so and moved the sight block back to carbine. added early car handguards and 2 position stock. Basically a 653. Although we did give them 653's many were just modified A-1's.

My clone. Colt upper, DCI A-1 lower, Fiberlight stock and car hadguards along with the Izzy dust shield and strap. Mine weighs 5.9 lbs or 2650 grams with the strap. This is a fun rifle to shoot. http://i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac44/jerrymrc/toys/canning240Small.jpg http://i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac44/jerrymrc/toys/canning243Small.jpghttp://i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac44/jerrymrc/toys/dscf7714iy7qc7vq7.jpg

I put my pinned DD pencil 14.5" on my plum crazy lower and it was amazingly light. Then I sold the DD barrel...

I have one similar to this... it's a 14.5 pinned PSA pencil flattop on a new frontier poly lower. Without my riser and optic, it's well under 6, possibly closer to 5, but i can't weigh it accurately enough with my bathroom scale so i really don't know how much it weighs, but it's super light.
