I know there are gamers on here... Got this last night, played for about 2 hours and it is awesome. If you've heard nothing about it (but are familiar with the first two Assassin's Creed games) it takes place during the 1750's-1790's, the birth of our nation. So far I've met Benjamin Franklin, and apparently they went to great lengths to ensure historical accuracy... even as far as Franklin's affinity for cougars (older women). I've only last night reached the frontier outside of Boston, but from what I hear you can hunt, trade, and do other cool things beyond just killing Red Coats (which is pretty awesome by itself!).
If you like gaming, check it out! [Beer]

I've heard nothing but good about the game and I'll probably pick it up tonight.. I was watching an interview w/ the developers and they went through great lengths for historical accuracy.. bringing in historians and iirc involving the GW museum..

I gotta build my new rig.
I have major lag when I play the first one!!
Plus most games now run on windows 7.
And a lot of games have a lot of trouble playing with Wine on Linux..

Just because I am sure most of you are not clicking a short synopsis of the linked thread. One of the characters in this game is in honor of a fallen soldier in the 'stan.

I've never had good luck with Wine. I couldn't even get Counter-Strike to run decently using it.

Yup,had the same issues as well.I gave up and just went with the option to boot up in windows instead.
Wine was big when it first came out,but unfortuneatly as time went on it wound up being useless.
Only if most games had Linux support...
Diddn't Counter Strike finaly come up with a Linux version?

Damn now I'm gonna have to spend 60 bucks on this. Of course I need to finish the first two still.

Fantastic game but extremely glitchy. Probably the worst of the series from a QA standpoint, but I love the setting and the combat.

I was bored to tears with the first one. Pick a pocket, listen in, eagles perch, beat an informent, eagle perch, ride for fucking miles to do it again.

Before I got this I played the 2nd one and it was just OK. This new one is so badass. Not only is the time period one that interests me, but the kills are brutal and everything about it is just awesome. I defiantly recommend it.

I have to admit, that I thought this game was stupid when I first saw the previews. I've been seeing this game for years, and they started in ancient Rome, and now they are in America? I'm sure it's cool, but I just thought the leap in time was dumb. Not that I've ever actually played any of them.

its following a brotherhood through all of time, much like the templar, or masons, etc. the point is to show how one group can affect all of history.
