My dad lives in Monument and has a 5 acre property where he posted Romney signs along the road. For the last couple days he has been finding trash and dumped in his yard apparently done in the middle of the night. Well just after sundown yesterday a neighbor knocked on his door and said that she just saw three people walking along the road who removed his signs and destroyed them. My father thanked the lady and drove up the road to confront them. He described them as three Hispanic females in their 20s. One still had ripped plastic in her hand. He yelled at them and told them that they had no right on his property. He also said those signs are a symbol of why Romney needs to win because people like you are an example of what is wrong with the Obama supporters. He also gave them some words about trespassing.
Either way my fellow members I know this is experience is minor but it shows some very brazen behavior. What is going to happen if Clown shoes Obama loses? Are we going to have moments in some areas of the country where houses are burnt to the ground and people are dragged from their cars and beaten just for being white? What is going to happen if Clown shoes wins? I don't see this country civilly staying together for the next 4 years with him in power. Either way all of you be safe today.
Petty vandalism, especially regarding political signs, has been around for decades. Obama didn't bring a rise to this. I'm sure there are conservatives doing the same thing in other parts of the country. There is scum all throughout the populace, it's not just relegated to any one political party.
Sorry to hear about your dad's stuff, but it would be getting tossed out this week regardless. Furthermore, I would dare you to find someone who can legitimately say their political opinion was swayed by a yard sign.

None of what you said has any relevance to what happened to him. So what they're getting tossed at the end of the week. What about them remaining in his yard so that he has the choice at the end of the week.
I don't put a yard sign in the yard to attempt to sway anyone's opinion or vote. The vandals/felons or whatever they are should not step foot on my property to do their dirty deeds.
Once again the party of 'tolerance' shows their true colors by attacking any sign that disagrees with their stance.

Neither trespassing nor vandalism is a felony. And again, conservatives are doing it as well. So it's not this bullshit "party of tolerance" you just made up. Unless you are now suggesting that the Democratic party is entirely made up of Muslims.

Yes minor vandalism on the signs, however they should not be trespassing in his yard or dumping trash. He doesn't go into their yard or destroy their property. My intent with this post was to encourage everyone to be vigilant for the near future.

It all boils down to respect.
As long as the signs were on his property it is destruction of private property.
Yup, the "Party of Tolerance" is a wonderful thing unless you disagree with them.
They aint gonna be happy later...........
I may walk around and collect a bunch of surplus signs tonight after 7:00. They do make good target holders.

There has been a greater amount of Democratic vandalism for some time. Its an old fact.

Recall that we've seen plenty of fake "GOP" vandalism such as the vandalism of the DNC office in Denver during the convention that turned out to be a Democratic "transgendered" volunteer.
And don't forget all of the union thuggish behavior aimed at TEA Party people, while the TEA Party was being falsely accused of violence by the media.

Father is 68 years old , retired law enforcement, very conservative and yes made him very upset. Yard signs are minor but its the point of violating someone's space. I worry for him a bit what if these bozos decide to esculate their harrassment? Either I think he could handle his own regardless he just should not have the stress.
I think dad should have called the police.

The TEA party has also been falsely accused of racism.
You have to look at society and how people work a little, but yard signs have a huge effect on the average person. You feel like a loner, or an outcast if you are considering voting for someone that "everyone else" opposes. It has a deep psychological effect on the person who is on the fence about who to vote for. I am not saying that the signs change their way of thinking, but if all you see are Obummer signs and everyone out there seems to be driving around with his bumper stickers you feel more confident going with the crowd than against it. Now from a strong conservative standpoint it really does bum me out to drive through Boulder and I actually do get mad seeing all the bullshit propaganda everywhere. If I were less of a strong willed person it might make me not speak out against Obummer or not vote at all because of the overwhelming presence of opposition support. My point here is that if you look inside yourself and think of how you react when you see the signs they really do have a big impact on voters.
I think that your father should have taken their pictures and reported them for trespassing and destruction of private property. He should have called the police on the spot when he found them and kept with them until they got there to ensure that they were cited for their crimes. This is not just some crap that we should tolerate, that is what got us here in the first place.

Neither trespassing nor vandalism is a felony.
So that makes it okay ???? [Rant1]

As small as it is, it's still the concept that pisses me off. That would of been sweet if he had it on video and called the cops, and got them for destruction of property...

And let's not forget the "Party of Tolerance" and their fine performances at "Occupy Wall Street" locations around the country.....rape, drug use and its ensuing garbage, public relieving of oneself(on LE vehicles to boot) to name a few.
I will say the only signs I have seen damaged were all Romney signs.
And yes, it is the principle that matters.

Yes, the act is petty; but rather than confront them, he should have called the police. Vandalism and trespassing are still crimes.
I've only noticed vandalized Romney signs too (big one at Academy and Constitution with "Liar" spray painted on it). It happens every election.
The one case of Obama signs being trashed that I've seen was pure artistry though. Anyone else remember the story out of Texas about deer destroying the Obama signs in one man's yard? Who ever was spraying deer piss on those signs was a genius.
Should have called the police and made a citizens arrest until they arrived.
They could pick up all the trash and get some nice community service out if the whole deal.

"Neither trespassing nor vandalism is a felony."
It is if the value of the items destroyed exceeds a certain amount.
"So it's not this bullshit "party of tolerance" you just made up."
Yeah - I made it up... and I invented the internet.
"Unless you are now suggesting that the Democratic party is entirely made up of Muslims"
You said it, not me.

I agree he should have called the El Paso sheriff, but I suspect with the response time they would have been long gone.
To balance this, KOAA (Colorado Springs) aired a Obama sign being nabbed, caught on the property owner's surveillance camera.
Idiots on both sides of the fence. Doesn't make it right, but what's wrong is saying that it's exclusively a Democratic trait.

Good point. However my point with this post was also for people to stay vigilant. Have not heard of any Tea Partiers rioting or pulling people from their cars. I hope that the really bad things don't pop up but if they do its just good to be prepared.

Um... I have yet to hear any stories (maybe I'm not really looking that hard, but I don't have to to find anything about the Dems doing this routinely) about democraps saying Republicans are vandalizing their signs and keying their cars... Granted, it probably is happening, but I'm willing to throw a fresh, crisp $20 bill down that it's happening exponentially more to Republican's property and signage.

First, all 3 classes of trespass in Colorado either are, or can be, felonies. And vandalism, correctly known as criminal mischief in Colorado, can also be a felony. In this case, probably not. But we don't know about the trespass because we don't know the intent of the parties who trespassed nor how the property is classified.
Yes, people from both sides do it. But I'm willing to go out on a limb based on vast anecdotal evidence that it's committed far more often on the liberal side. It's just inherent in how the party of "occupiers" act and behave. Kinda like the Black Panthers or union thugs showing up at polling places to intimidate voters.
And what the hell do "muslims" have to do with this conversation?
Being mad about supporting Romney, and pulling people out of their cars and beating them because they are white is a HUGE leap. You should really evaluate your position.
