I don't know what the hell is going on anymore. One of the few leaders we have on the conservative side just lost his seat in the house. I'm really starting to see that the big EC states are all just f'ked up, along with colorado. Wyoming is really starting to look sexy, since my cost of living just went up 13.5%.

As to this all I can say is he lost his base of support. He had some great ideas and it appealed to many, but I think the majority saw the lack of support he had. I mean really, he was outspoken. I never disagreed with him but I'm sure the spin by his opponent was that he was radical.

I don't know that he lost his base of support so much as the Dems saw him as a huge threat to their African-American base just as they saw Palin as a threat to their female base so practiced similar scorched earth tactics against him. The Dems will do ANYTHING to defeat conservative African-Americans or women to make it look like the GOP and conservatives are nothing more than racist white boys -- look at how much money they poured into defeating Mia Love in Utah.
