View Full Version : Get your ammo while you can
Well I am stocked up on most stuff but I went ahead and ordered a case of 22lr so that I can plink about til the smoke clears.
Good call. I need to start buying about $50 a month for the next year.

Let's not spread the paranoia any more than necessary. The only reason for the shortage last time was people hoarding because they were paranoid.
here we go.. a couple panic, then normal folks cannot find ammo, then more panic because there is a shortage, which makes the shortage worse...
Same folks are in power today that were yesterday. same balance. Some hoped it'd be better but it didn't get worse overnight.

OR UNPREPARED. As gun owners you shoudl have a min of 1K per firearm ~10 magazines. Don't have due to lack of income, understandable, However if you were old enough to vote in 08 and failed to make some sort of stock pile.
Expect the prices to increase soon.

Republicans still have control of the house and filibuster powers in the senate. Not sure how gun control can pass with those odds.

EXECUTIVE ORDER
I think you're misunderstanding the breadth that an executive order can cover. Checks and balances.

My bet is that you won't see much effect for domestic production, but an EO can and has had significant effect on imports. I'd be more worried about imported ammunition restrictions then a mag cap or AWB style ban. Either way, I believe these things to be many months, if not years, away. Bigger fish to fry now, House and Senate elections later.

SSSHHHHHHHH it's a secret.
You try and explain to the masses and they still believe, you need both House & senate to pass or make any new law.
Not trying to start a panic but I do remember the last time and prices jumped and supply dried up so I have purchased 22lr and primers because those were the hardest things for me to come by last time.

It's funny, but I had the exact conversation with my 14 year old niece, who asked me about voting and politics. I tried to explain to her that the President's true power domestically is through the appointment process for the cabinet, courts, and assorted regulatory agencies. I told her the last one is what concerns me most, because the assorted agencies make de facto laws under the guise of administrative policy that effect me much more on a daily basis then actual laws passed by the Legislative branch.
Her eyes glazed over.

Guys I am just as butthurt as you are. My taxes are going up and everything in my chosen vocation (finance) just got a whole lot murkier. Obama still can't pass full blown legislation on his own.

You need to wake up and smell the liberalism of America. ANY PRESIDENT can and will as need be or suits them wave the magic pen and Presto! EO.
They won't need an EO, just put a hi cap mag and online ammo ban in some legislation to avoid the fiscal cliff and it will sail right through. The libs could even give a bit on tax increases in exchange for a nice AWB.
I'm not even going to bother.
I have a good stash and I refuse to be like the hordes of the ill prepared that'll bump the price out of practical affordabillity...

I bought everything I thought that I would need before the "elections." Unfortunately, everything I bought was lost in a tragic boating accident. Hate when that happens. Sponge Bob is well armed now, at least.

Went to sportsmans warehouse in the 'springs today, and looks like some people have started to horde. The sales guy said someone came in yesterday and blew $2k on powder wednesday. I ended up walking out with no powder today, 4350 and retumbo were both out of stock.

I'll take ten!
Let's see...that should get me a little over half a box of .45.
Wait, what kind of powder? Oh hell, it doesn't matter. Stocking up boys!
Anything can be passed if you put it deep enough into a 73000 page omnibus spending bill that absolutely must pass or else the country will go bankrupt, seniors will miss a payment and soldiers in the field will be defunded.
Expect the worst and be pleasantly surprised when you get anything better.
Be safe.
