"We will not accept any treaty that infringes on the constitutional rights of our citizens to bear arms," he said. [Kick1]

It's a resolution, not law.

It is a source of concern, as earlier drafts supported by Obama's administration did add restrictions on domestic sales. Notice at the same time, that Harry Reid is proposing weakening the filibuster rules in the Senate.

People who poo-poo'd concerns about gun control efforts in a second Obama administration will have to eat their words when the Obama administration starts moving forward on more gun control proposals. Things like an assault weapons ban renewal will take hard work to defeat.

One thing we need to consider: in Heller vs DC one of the things clearly defined was it is unlawful to ban a given class/charachteristic of a firearm.
This could make an AWB sticky to pull off.
But they did also state that firearms are subject to regulation.
Regulation and taxation. Remember the old rumor of having to report your firearms as part of your tax return? Everybody laughed.
Given that Ocare will have significant IRS control should we be laughing now?
Me thinks not.
Registration?
I do see Barry signing off on any firearm related item and if they institute a new ban it will have teeth. These people are not stupid and realize the shortcomings of Clintons ban, it did not ban the firearm but rather insignificant cosmetic aspects of "assault weapons".
They will address that.
I would surmise that it would be permanent as well.
How does the UN small arms treaty affect things?

Make no doubt, our Second Amendment will change in one way or another. O now has nothing to lose.

One thing we need to consider: in Heller vs DC...
Let's just stop right there.

This regime doesn't give a damn about the Constitution or legal precedent. In the next 4 years Barry is going to stack the court to give whatever rulings he wants, so Heller vs DC will be overturned eventually (along with pretty much the rest of the Constitution).

The rule of law is dead, the Republic is dead, American sovereignty is next. We now live under a "Participatory Fascist" regime that will only grow larger and more intrusive (and at break neck speed over the next four years).

Elections have consequences and if "moderates" didn't vote for Mittens because he was too conservative or "libertarians" because he was too "establishment GOP" or evangelicals because he's too Mormon then its on your heads.

We don't come back from this folks.

Yeah - and the Weimarer Republik's gun control measures began as only a thought - just before Hitler enacted them. This is a first step. Do you REALLY think that the Obamao camp is going to leave gun control TOTALLY off the radar? REALLY? Be honest with me as I'm stocking up on my "I told you so's".

^ CORRECTED.

Let me also ad this then:

And Mao, Stalin & Pol Pot and the like had to start somewhere with their belief system. It didn't just happen overnight with one fell swoop of enacting the measures you see in those countries. A drop of water becomes the flood.

Actually "Hitler's gun control measures" began before Hitler was elected. The gun laws were part of the Weimarer Republik (not that the outcome wasn't just as bad, but if we're going to use German history to make our points we need to get it correct).

I agree with everything else you said, but there's no teeth in any IRS ability to enforce fines and they have stated they will not audit lack of payment.

My worry is less on what affect it would have on gun availability/prices and more on ammunition imports to the US. Anyone remember what happened to all that awesome South African .308 surplus after those UN fucks got their hands on it :(

Yeah, but the real question, who is flying the earth around the sun?
