Well? I play the guitar, mostly nu rock and metal. Sometimes I will play softer rock (like AusioSlave), but first and foremost I play Rage Against the Machine and System of a Down type music.
I bought my first guitar about four years ago, way back when I was 14. I tired playing Santana and Jimi Hendrix, but those proved to be extremely difficult and I simply gave up. I didn't pick it back up until about April of 06' when my cousin awed us all with his abilities. I picked it up again, and yet again failing to learn Santana/Hendrix songs through and through. I finally broadened my taste in music and began listening to AudioSlave, who work (Tom Morello) was finally do able. :D
Now I listen to and [;ay the songs of quite a few nu rock groups, Chevelle, The Exies, Rage Against the Machine, Three Days Grace, etc Some metal like SOiL, Mudvayne, System of a Down.
Right now I am mooching off the work of others and am yet to develop my own style, though I favor drop-tuning and rhythm guitar over lead (solo'ing).
Some of what I know, they don;t sound as great as they could because I had to play quietly yet loud at the same time (for some reason no one appreciates an amp blasting  )
