Well? I play the guitar, mostly nu rock and metal. Sometimes I will play softer rock (like AusioSlave), but first and foremost I play Rage Against the Machine and System of a Down type music.
I bought my first guitar about four years ago, way back when I was 14. I tired playing Santana and Jimi Hendrix, but those proved to be extremely difficult and I simply gave up. I didn't pick it back up until about April of 06' when my cousin awed us all with his abilities. I picked it up again, and yet again failing to learn Santana/Hendrix songs through and through. I finally broadened my taste in music and began listening to AudioSlave, who work (Tom Morello) was finally do able. :D
Now I listen to and [;ay the songs of quite a few nu rock groups, Chevelle, The Exies, Rage Against the Machine, Three Days Grace, etc Some metal like SOiL, Mudvayne, System of a Down.
Right now I am mooching off the work of others and am yet to develop my own style, though I favor drop-tuning and rhythm guitar over lead (solo'ing).
Some of what I know, they don;t sound as great as they could because I had to play quietly yet loud at the same time (for some reason no one appreciates an amp blasting  )

The effects pedal I bought with the ESP. I still haven't received my instrument cable in the mail, so I am yet to play with it. :( DigiTech Hot Head distortion pedal.

I'd love to be able to play more chevelle but their super-low tunings and my guitar (Washburn Maverick BT-4) don't get along.

Ah well, at least Linkin Park is only drop-C#.

Never learned the technicalities, just rockin' hard and fast for the most part.

Lovin' that ESP, always wanted one, but right now I've got a Ibanez RG I think it is.. tapered body edges, Floyd Rose trem and a nice Boss board with a well suited Crate Studio amp.

I don't play near as much as I did in my teens or early twenties.. actually went about 5 years without a guitar then snagged this rig and a third guitar when I got serious again. Guns took over that descretionary spending, but it's still fun to bust out "For whom the bells toll" and the heavier origional riffs just to freak out the kids.
