I've been following this whole scandal on arfcom. almost 500 pages so far at 25 posts per page...

There is so much WTF and FAIL at the DOJ that the whole thing needs to be disbanded and all participants in this fucked up scheme put away for life.

I can't believe Eric Holder is still in any sort of position other than bent over in a max security prison by an inmate named thunderdick.

Most Americans don't even know what Fast and Furious was. They know Obama got re-elected and they are more concerned about what new handouts their entitled to. As usual, justice is rarely served to high level government officials [Rant2]

I don't really believe that considering this map:

Sad that a few urban shitholes decide the fate of our country.

F&F was clearly a cloaked mechanism to further restrict this countries 2A rights. It had nothing to do with taking down cartels.

More lies.
I am tired of lies.

Just wait until he replaces Ginsburg on the SCOTUS and the Senate doesn't do dick to stop it.

America is dead folks ... and it wasn't killed by the election (the election is nothing more than a symptom of the real sickness, and that sickness is the American people. They're as ignorant of the principals this nation was built on and as corrupt as the people in DC).

Just like a Kenyan will never be president?

Totally agree.

This country was founded by brave men with dreams. Men who weren't afraid to take up arms against a tyrannical and oppressive government. Men who were willing to sacrifice everything, including their lives, to make their lives better.

Our founding fathers would roll over in their graves if they knew what we have let this country become.

God help the next several generations of "Americans".

I don't remember if it was Krauthammer or Hume that said the other night that the problem is that the liberals took over the education system years ago, we all knew it and did nothing about it. Brainwashing begins in kindergarten and now extends through graduate school.

about 90% of my "friends" on facebook are liberal, or at least they wouldn't admit to being R because of all of their liberal friends. I took the image of the county-votes map posted by Sniper7 and wrote this on my wall:
Like Organic Fruits & Veggies? I don’t know about others, but I’d trust a small, family farmer a lot more than Cargill or Monsanto when it comes to Produce source and labeling. Those big companies started playing fast & loose with “organic” labeling which probably did a lot to prompt the creation of USDA organic certification. Anyways, unlike Big Ag, small farmers do not have a lot of liquidity. Machinery is often on loan, the seed is bought on a promise of repaying after the harvest and selling of crops, and hopefully if the weather behaved, there’s enough left over to repeat the process the next year.

If O & Co. are successful in doing away with Bush Era Tax Cuts for the “Wealthy” then by both their hopes and by default, the estate tax will go back to 55%. A farm’s land/assets can easily be worth $1,000,000 but they still have very little liquidity. Any good business knows that having high liquidity probably means is hasn't been invested properly. Farmers, however, simply don’t have the luxury of that dilemma. The inheriting farmer is faced with immediate consequences and limited choices:
1) borrow money on land that has been passed down from generations to pay a tax-out-of-nowhere (pro-tip: with today's banks, it's not going to happen)
2) Beg the IRS for a payment plan and hope to make the monthly payments (combined with the aforementioned loan) or the likely inevitable:
3) Sell the farm and assets for not a lot of money to a big corporation. Don’t forget to pay a much higher capital gains tax on selling that, btw (take that, fat cat farmers!). Within two generations, a family farm is history. Oh well, it’s not like they “built that”.

The photo is of by-county election results. Guess what color represents all the small farmers in the US. Guess who actually had skin in the game this election.

Good thing half of America focused on Nancy being able to marry Beth (and this was just for assumptions, not promises, not even hints of federal legalization). Maybe someday they too can feel the joy of paying more taxes through the marriage-penalty and watching their inheritance go to the government to supply free birth control for all.

It’s not a rant when it’s just so sad and depressing. Close to a trillion [my edit: I meant billion, got caught up in obama-level debt spending figures] dollars was spent on campaign advertising to make everyone forget (ah hell they didn't know in the first place) where their country has come from, and instead had everyone focused on twisted issues of emotion and FUD.

A teacher of high-school social studies at a public school in Chicago (who's also apparently taking graduate level courses) replied with this:
You're using poor farmers as an excuse so rich kids can keep more of their parents money? Most Americans inherit nothing but funeral bills.

What can I say to that? btw, any/all criticisms to my original FB post are welcome.

Essentially, it's the same dilemma regardless of it being a family owned farm or a family owned business. When estate taxes or 55% force liquidation, all the associated jobs are gone. She perceives 55% taxing a legitimate, but the results are the same. It's a prohibitive factor to building and maintaining a business beyond one generation. IF this was in policy in the early 20's the industrial revolution would have died a sudden and violent death in the 40's and into the 50's. It's one of the factors impacting job development in this country.

It begs the question; If I bought something, what give the government the right to think they get over half of it when I die? It gives the govt indirect ownership of EVERYTHING.

The real joke is that same teacher probably believes corporations pay income tax. She can't comprehend the reality that taxes are factored into the price of everything she buys and SHE is paying the taxes. Logic doesn't compute for folks like that.

DING DING DING DING DING WE HAVE A WINNER!

That's the ENTIRE POINT of "progressive-ism", "leftism" and "collectivism". Eliminate property rights and then even the people become the property of the state.

Its all about power.
