Ok, yes, I know this question may very well tag me as a member of the tinfoil beanie brigade, but I honestly just feel weird if I go forth sans pistol.

Anyway, what are the laws regarding carrying a pistol (concealed or openly) in Colorado? I have a CCW permit.

Somebody back me up here with the exact law.

Last I recall you can carry concealed while in the act of hunting. It was an exemption from the requirement of a CCW permit.

You may run into a problem. An officer may think you are using the weapon for the "mercy shot". Check with your local DOW office.

You don't even need a permit to CCW while hunting in colorado. I guess I don't understand what your asking.

I open carry sometimes and have never had a problem I conceal carry most of the time and have never had a problem. Never had a cop give me any problems, never been charged with brandishing, never had aliens from outer space tell me I can't carry.....................

I don't get the tinfoil hat people. Tinfoil is made for cooking not wearing on your head.

Open carry is legal unless posted and they can only restrict open carry in certain places such as parks.

I'm a Colorado resident with a CO CWP. I've heard, though never verified, that some states don't allow concealed carry during hunting for any reason whatsoever, and was not sure what Colorado's laws on the subject are.

I have no idea if there are other states that have those kind of laws but CO does not. You can carry open or concealed while engaged in hunting and no permit is required. The only problem with out having a permit is the second you leave the field and are not engaged in hunting you would have to open carry to stay legal. You have a permit so it doesnt matter if your engaged in hunting or not.

I have been carrying my walther p22 with a suppressor on it concealed for the bastard pine squirrels that wont STFU. It never fails I find a great spot to sit and one of the relentless bastards will chatter his ass for hours on end. My walther shuts them up in a hurry.

This is the section of the code that addresses hunting.
