View Full Version : Should i f@#k with this neighborhood kid?
So i am out in my back yard with the dogs. Since we have not installed flood lamps in the back i am using my led flashlight to illuminate the dogs. All of the sudden i see a red dot laser on the fence, and then it shines on me. I look around i see the laser reflect through some trees and it is coming from a house across the way on another street. I know that is a kids bedroom because i've driven past the house and seen how the room is decorated.
I turn my flashlight into strobe mode, and shine it into his room. Immediately the laser pointer goes away. Then i decide to have some fun with the kid. I grab another LED multifunction light and my 5 million candle power spot light from the house and shine it all in his bedroom. The spill from lights illuminate the entire house!
When my lights are on, the kid is hiding and there is no laser. I turn my lights off and the laser appears again. We play this game for a few minutes and then i return back to the house.
I told my wife i should f@#k with the kid and call the 911 and tell them i had a red dot laser sight pointed at me and i suspect it is a sniper rifle. I would tell them i am afraid that i might get shot at. The cops would show up, find out where the laser is coming from, and that kid would be mowing my lawn for the next year. And probably get a his ass beat from his parents.
Is that being too harsh? Should i have grabbed my AR and took the little kid out? I know my aim is not that good with the glock, but to be honest i did reach for it when i first saw the laser.

hmmmm is it illegal to shine a laser on your neighbors chest?
sounds like a bored kid.... something i would have done.... lol....
I would take it as a serious threat.
start with the kids parents and tell em you're this close to calling the cops.

Engage and report, OUT!!!
I'm with 7idl here.. talk with the parents. If that doesn't resolve it, call the cops. Don't put yourself in a position where the kids folks could call them on you.

The tables could easily be turned on you if the parents or another neighbor observes you shining flashlights into their home. Talk to the parents first, if they blow you off then don't say anything more to them, just make the report to the PD. If it happens again at least you have a previously documented report and the second occurrence can be elevated to harassment. Both criminal and civil action can then be taken.
the little brat has been play his games again, and the laster pointer was shinned in my eyes tonight. so after the dogs were doing, i went inside and charged the camcorder so i can record it tomorrow as evidence and then pay a visit to his parents.

whay are you still dicking around with this kid? you should have contacted the parents after the 1st incident. now it will turn into a he did/ you did. if it was me i would have asked you how come you waited this long approx (4mths) to do something. of course i would talk to my kid. either way stop dicking around and deal with the parents
filmed him last night with the laser pointer, and i don't plan on disclosing the first incident to his parents.

screw the punk, talk to his folks. if that doesnt work, there are countless ways to get back at asshole neighbors who become a problem!
Im going thru it right now. i have this Beyatch single horse-toothed creature of the jungle for a neighbor who just happens to work for the FBI.
somehow she has landed in my cul-de-sac where there are 30+ kids, she speeds up and down, doesnt want any of them in her yard or playing in front of it.....its starting to be a nightmare and the summer when everyone is outside is going to be worse. Frankly we all hope she moves. shes a total whackjob.
sorry didnt mean to Hijack !
One night a while back I sat down to dinner with my parents...mid-sentence their eyes get huge, and I see a red dot on my chest...I look to the left out the window and see two kids standing on a rear deck with a red dot coming from one of them...flip of the bird and they went away...I'll have to remember to return the favor someday...
the dad was very nice, he apologized for his sons actions.
then beat the kid with the laser pointer..
I have Crimson Trace grips on two 1911's, and late at night I've shined the laser on faraway buildings for just a second, to see how far the light will go. It's amazing how far that light will go, and how bright it is on the side of a building 500+ yards away.
Just doing that makes me nervous as hell, I just KNOW the cops will be coming any second. I can't imagine someone being stupid enough to mess with other people like that. They deserve a visit from the po-po.
I have to say, it is just a kid and you know there is no threat correct?
I can't imagine it is that much of a big deal. I would turn it into a game with the kid. He is just young and having fun.
This is coming from the guy who still gets into snowball fights with all of the neighborhood kids at 34 y/o. I would get a water cannon or a water balloon catapult and have some fun.

The kid is getting the wrong message from the adults if he thinks pointing a laser at folks is fun. You can bet if this was an adult and the police were involved there would be some consequences. I know I'd be hitting the deck if I saw a red spot on my chest while sitting in my living room. That's just my .02
