Hello everyone, I finally made it to Colorado (from NYC) - born in New Orleans, raised in Mississippi, wound up in NYC for 30 years. Great to be here, and on this forum. I just recently bought my first handgun, a S&W 649, for personal protection. Also just got a Remington 870 20 Ga. for home defense. It feels great to be here on the High Plains.

I blog for American liberty at my website, No Apology (http://www.americaholds.blogspot.com/). Please feel free to drop by there. I'm not selling anything.

I am also a homeschool advocate, for reasons which should be apparent.

Will be taking a self-defense course in La Junta soon, after which I will apply for ccw permit. Practice at the range several times a week.

Again, great to be here.

P.S. I should probably add that this is the first time in 50 years I've fired a weapon. The last time was at Ft Jackson, SC - I fired "expert" on the M-1 Garand (KD Range). So it's been awhile, my eyes aren't as good as they were, but a good rifle is next on my shopping list.

Thanks, guys - good to be here. I went to the firing range in La Junta today, and happened to meet up with Fred Justice (love that name), who has offered to teach me how to shoot. I'm taking him up on it. He was on the competitive shooting circuit for many years. Super guy.

Welcome, You know there is a nice little range at the Mike Higbee SWA, just on the east side of Granada also.
