Lost a young man that was part of one our hobby/sports we do as a family. Not a close friend but one of the good guys that always had a smile, hello and a word of advice or encouragement for my boys. I already miss him, we spoke briefly at an event yesterday as everyone was packing up and heading home in the snowstorm.
Just wonder what as a 16-17 year old, with a talent level he had, would make him take his own life.
When I got word this afternoon, I thought maybe a car accident in the snow. Details followed and the deep sorrow continues to build.

Sorry for your loss brother. If you need anything, shoot me a PM (I'm sure that goes for a lot of the guys here).
Someone posted this on my buddy's Facebook page when he died (accidental suicide) last month, pretty spot on with who he was... it sounds like its fitting for your friend too...
"He kept at true good humour’s mark. The social flow of pleasure’s tide: He never made a brow look dark, nor caused a tear, but when he died."
People do all sorts of things that even close friends and loved ones can never understand.
Haven't you ever done something and wondered a short while later why in the world you just did that?
Value the people you have around you. They, and you, will not always be there. Everyone has value. When I am unable to find the value in someone else, it is my shortcoming for not seeing that, and it is ultimately my loss for missing what they bring.
I'm sorry for your loss. I'm sorry this young person didn't stick around to see what comes next. Sad, very sad, but it would be even more sad if people going through this kind of grief take nothing of value from the lessons tragedy brings.
Be safe.

Thanks guys, just part of the mourning process. have to get it out...
Damn... I honestly feel that if people knew exactly how the loss of their life would affect their loved ones, that it would never go down like this. It is sad to think of a human being feeling so alone in this world. My thoughts and prayers go out to all who this young man left a lasting impression on. Sorry for your loss wrench. Make sure to set your kids down and let them know they are loved, it goes a long way sometimes. RIP

Lots of reasons kids commit suicide. Either a lack of perspective (things that aren't that big a deal to adults because we've lived a little longer are the end of the world to kids; sometimes that's not a figurative thing and it's very sad) or something went on in his life that you don't know about.
Chemical imbalances, abuse, molestation (which is frighteningly common) have all been cited as likely causes in similar cases.
I'm sorry for your loss. It's never easy to see someone young and good go.
Sorry to hear that, my thoughts and prayers go out to the family and everyone involved. It truly is tragic when someone takes their life before they have a chance to see how beautiful being alive can be.
Sorry for your loss. It happens all too frequently these days. Lots of pressure build up without the friendship and connections to dissipate it these days it seems. My prayers are with you.

I want to offer my Condolences.
Only your friend knows and understands all of the factors that resulted in this.
I pray you find peace.

This is sad news. Some questions just cannot be answered.

Sorry buddy. We had a guy in our squadron years ago that murdered his wife and then killed himself. None of us saw it coming. He was always cheerful and making everybody laugh. Sometimes there are no answers.
I offer my condolences as well. Unfortunately, my experience with suicide is entirely different from what you are going through, so I can not offer any insight to your situation.

I could never understand what would make anyone want to take their own life.
One day my wife killed herself. Then, ironically I understood.
There are many reasons, and he had his. You could not do anything to prevent it, you were unaware of the storm brewing inside him. You will not be able to explain it.
I'm sorry for your loss, and the shock, anger and bewilderment you're feeling. But may never understand, and I pray you don't.
Very sorry for your loss my prayers are with you and the family.
