ISO an carry solution for my wife that does not interfere with her wardrobe selection. She has tried the Crossbreed Supertuck and belly band style holsters and does not like either choice. What does your female CCW use for holster options?
The one I used to have used a crossbreed.. not very many options out there to conceal and dress nice for the ladies.

I came here to ask the same question..hah. I want to buy my wife a purse for Christmas and dont really know what to look for. I will either fail or succeed in an amazing fashion. Lol
This gal does a pretty good job of demonstrating a bunch of different options.

Pistol Packin Mommas purse. Great quality. Blu Core has a few of them on the shelf and there also is a dealer carrying them at Tanner.

Girlfriend hates Coach. My get out of jail card with her is socks. The dog keeps eating hers.
Any fabric purse the wife likes, sow an uncle mike's holster to the inside, and you're good.
I have a friend that is a master leather guy, he makes custom purses for ladies... I was up there when he finished the one that is on his web page. Super nice.
He also makes some wicked cowboy action holsters - take a minute to look at the pictures.

My wife used to carry a ruger lcp in a purse but found it not very enjoyable to shoot. Just hurts the hands (and I would agree). We still keep it around for quick out the door option or walking the dog around the street. She went to a Kahr CM9 (I carry a Kahr CW9) and that is much more enjoyable to shoot. She either carries in a purse or usually this: http://www.happycow.com.au/leather-hip-bags.html
She knows that she won't be quick on the draw but she is always very good about watching her surroundings so hopefully it won't come to that. She (and i) just accept that is better to have something that you'll always have and be comfortable with than at home.

I gotta be honest.. if there's a dress involved, I like the Halle Berry thigh strap.

I'm going to take her down to Blue Core this weekend to check out their selection for a start. Hopefully, she'll get a better idea of what she's looking for in CCW.

FaliaPhotography (those links) is a good source of information for what it is, but remember that she's an athletic 120 pound 20-something; a fair number of women...aren't. Her journey may be more interesting/useful/informative than the conclusions she draws. And it IS an interesting journey, and she narrates it extensively.
Cornered Cat is sane, non-formulaic, and has practical experience with many different body types and lifestyles. Website and book.
GetOffTheX.com has an active women's sub-forum where different concealment methods are discussed, BY WOMEN. Have her check that out.
Gila Hayes has a book that I would expect good things of, just based on my experience with FAS and Marty. Thumbs-up-by-association, for whatever that's worth.
The guys at BlueCore are great and are probably as good a place to shop and ask these questions as you'll find in the area, but they're still working with secondhand information at best.
My advice: SHE should be seeking out ACTUAL WOMEN.
My wife is currently wearing a Remora and LOVES it. She can wear it with jeans, yoga pants, or skirts. She actually tried the flashbang and the marilyn and said they "work" but aren't the most comfortable but she will wear the flashbang if she has on a dress or something without a waistband. She carries a LC9 as well if that makes a difference.

I'm of average build, and wear office-casual at work and jeans & cowboy boots everywhere else. I carry a P238 and a P229.
For the 238, I use a Remora most often. Even in pants without a belt, such as lightweight fabric dress pants with no belt loops, it will stay in place. I wear a cardigan, vest or longish shirt. I also have a Galco Sof-Tuk but it is not as easy to conceal as the Remora, so I don't end up using it as often. I have a belly band and a Smart Carry for when I can't waist carry. The Smart Carry works great for jogging. The belly band isn't super comfortable but it works OK when I have to.
I avoid purse carry except when there is literally no other way to carry.
The 229 is mostly a winter gun since I haven't found a great way to conceal it under anything other than a sweatshirt or coat.

For what it is worth my wife is a jeans and sweater type and carries a Glock 34 with a Masters Inside the Waistband (IWB) Concealment Holster with Belt Straps. (Lazy typist, cut and paste) This is the holster that uses two snap loops over the belt. I have a custom made IWB holster for my XD45 service model or the Masters for my Baby eagle. Since we got our CCW we don't use most of our outside the waist holsters. The custom holsters are made by a veteran in Highlands Ranch (home based business.) I can PM the website to anyone interested.
My wife went through a few guns before she found what she liked. It is a must to find something you enjoy shooting. We try to get range time a couple of times per month. If she didn't enjoy her Glock I think it would be every few months instead.

Here's another female vote for the Remora. I got it with the sweat shield to protect my skin a little more. I'm of average build. It works with many different outfits easily, and it's super low profile. My glock 26 conceals easily.
By the way, I also recommend against purse carry - that's the first thing someone would grab.

Who/Where in the Denver/Ft Collins area carries woman's CCW purses we can look at & get a idea/feel for.

Go t the next Tanner gun show. There is a woman there that has a large selection of purses in different styles. She also has carried for years so she is a good resource. She is very nice to talk to as well. She is about 3 tables back on the South side.

Thanks, but depending on when it is it's very possible we won't be able to make it down, that's why I'd like to stop in to different Gunshops tomorrow while in Denver to check out CCW purses as HH6 will be along & can see what she likes....

Rocky Mountain Shooters Supply in Fort Collins has some to look at, last I saw they had 15-20, in assorted styles. There were some fairly small cute ones. However, I +1 going to a gun show - any gun show (There's one in Loveland the 23rd-24th (http://www.gunshows-colorado.com/)). There's usually much more selection.

Thanks, will check in again at RMSS as last time we were in there they only had 2 or 3 small purses....
Loveland gun show has this posted:
Absolutely NO loaded guns or loaded magazines or loose ammo are allowed in the show.
This includes Concealed Carry Permit Holders
We do not come down unarmed, I play by big boy rules and as such they can KMA.....

Dang. I don't remember them having that disclaimer last time I went. That sucks.

Blu Core had a couple last time I was there. I didn't really look at them so I can't attest to their size. I think they were Gun Totin Mamas brand.

I tried one (a long time ago) and, even though they conceal well, getting to the firearm puts you in a less-than-ideal position.
This is not my preferred method of carry but it sure is a much better option than carrying a firearm in a purse.

Centennial Gun Store carries the Gun Toten Mommas brand. They are very nice and would work with the M&P 9c.
As far as holster, I use a High Noon Holster Spit Decision IWB with either XDm 3.8 or M&P Shield. It is very comfortable.
Also have a Remora and like it for when I might be making a quick trip to the store or walking up to the mailbox, etc.
I'm intending my wife to start carrying my G26 when she's finally got her CCW. Problem is she wears tightish clothing most of the time, and isn't much into baggy clothes. I'm vehemently against purse carry, and ankle holsters. If she'd tolerate it, I'm thinking the belly band type of arrangement might work. Only issue is making sure the trigger is protected. Not sure what we'll end up going with.

I saw some in Big R in Parker
I'm reviving this thread, because I've come across something that I think ladies may be interested in. Frankly, I like the styling, they look far sturdier than the typical belly band...and just look at the corset holsters! Lift, support AND holsters. I'm intrigued. :)

I have a hard time getting mine to carry on body. Most of the time she's a purse gal. I actually make Kydex holsters and would feel more comfortable if I could get her to carry on body more often. She has the same problem with her clothes and doesn't want to carry that way. That said, if your wife likes this style i'd be thrilled to build her something she'd enjoy carrying. It's pretty minimalist I'm just not sure if it'd be any more comfortable or any less intrusive to her wardrobe than the others she's tried. I have a lot of respect for a lady whose made the choice to be responsible for her own safety. If I can help, let me know.
