I was in my car yesterday and for some reason it occurred to me that I haven't listened to FM radio in years. I have SiriusXM in my cars, and I even still listen to CDs, so I just don't bother with the radio. All my FM presets were still in my headunit, so I decided to switch over and see how things are going in the FM world. I perused through all six presets, only to discover that EVERY SINGLE CHANNEL was a commercial. Every frickin' one. I suddenly remembered why I had stopped listening years ago, and I quickly switched back to satellite. Whew, that was a rough ten seconds of my life that I will never get back. I really don't understand how that industry stays in business... does anyone really listen anymore? What a terrible waste of perfectly good bandwidth.

I still do 106.7 for my commutes and it is not too bad. There is a commercial free hour on the Uncle Nasty show that lines up with the drive home so I don't have to worry about it. Otherwise I am a nerd and listen to audio books as I drive. That way I get through all the finance books that would normally take me months to finish in just a week or so. And traffic really does not bother me anymore. I am thinking about the book rather than getting mad at slow drivers. I had to train myself not to get too distracted though.

I got tired of all of the commercials and playing the same five songs over and over all day long. I switched to AM radio and listen to news and sports most of the time now.

Ditto on that, Peter Boyals in the morning and then off goes off the radio.

Went to satellite in 02 for the commercial free music, within a year I was thorougly addicted to talk radio. If I didn't have satellite It would probably be nothing at all.

I usually have my phone plugged into my stereo in the truck during my commutes. Radio blows.

I listen to NPR, the KS 107.5 Morning Show, and just recently they added a 24/7 comedy channel on 103.1. I listen to songs on 93.3 as well.

Apple is sorta funny, but the Ipod is the best high tech gift I have ever got. Podcast for comedy talk. Adam Carolla's daily pod cast is sweet. And more songs than I can shake a stick at. I was expecting the OP to say all his presets went Spanish. How does radio stay in business?

If I wanna go to sleep fast-I turn on fm radio.
If I want entertainment-xm it is.

I listen to NPR as well. No commercials. Only 'underwriting announcements'. Which are very much like commercials, but seem to leave less of an aftertaste for the Birkenstock crowd.

Personally I like my unlimited data and radio stations on my phone. I'm paying for it anyways. May as well get the most out of it.

Lewis and floorwax, , Listened too them until I met them. Many moons ago, I was working on their new Radio home, They came through on a tour, I was so impressed with them, after work I went and tuned the radio off of 103.5, and haven't listen to it since. That was about '94 I would guess.
