The family is taking a road trip to Cabelas and I was thinking about getting the boys a Savage Cub single shot .22. I've heard we have reciprocity with Nebraska and was just looking for folks that have first hand experience.

Go in fill out 4473, browse while waiting for approval, buy some ammo, then walk out with kids new rifle. You can buy a long gun, providing it is not 'restricted" in your home state pretty much anywhere in the USofA. EXCEPT CA. They don't sell to anyone!

Yep. It is actually faster than buying one here in CO. They send the 4473 straight to the feds. We have to send ours to the CBI, who then forwards it to the feds.

I have purchased several there, three in one day one time. No problems at all.

No issues, I have purchased long guns there and sailed right through. Handguns, no way except to ship to a CO FFL.

And Texas, who require you to be in adjoining state. I was disappointed by this when I finally found a reasonably priced m44 at last weekends Houston gun show.

Nope...

They've already broken ground just south of Sky Ridge Hospital right off of I-25. Big sign, Cabelas coming Summer 2013...

Why are all the good places so damn far away? First Bass Pro- waaaay out at Northfield and I-70, now Cabelas waaay down in Lone Tree... Nothing somewhat centrally located. I liked it better when they were planning on putting it in at I-70 and Youngsfield, too bad that pooch got screwed.

Cabela's is going up in Thornton as well. Not that that's any less GU from Evergreen.

Yeah, but anything involving I-25 (after already being on I-70, C-470, or 6th Ave for longer than 15min) sucks... Thornton may be close to the same distance, but I'd rather drive to there than Lone Tree... [Beer]

How about that? 2 of them in metro Denver. I guess they're not going to be as big as Bass Pro. http://www.denverpost.com/breakingnews/ci_20486022/cabelas-confirms-it-will-open-two-new-stores

So evidently it's at 144th and I25, not 168th. Sweet. I live at 128th...[Flower]

It's exit 226, just south of the Costco up there.

The family and I went up to Sidney on Sat. We spent about 4 hours at the store shopping, and increased the size of the herd by two. Turn around time for the 4473 was 15 minutes. Dave at the gun counter hooked me with the friends and family discount they were having over the weekend, so I saved some cash too. Over all a great trip, and I would recommend a visit to yall.
