going up, and will for a long time. as long as the economy is less than stellar and people continue to lose their homes the rental market will be more expensive.

it will be years for families to clean their credit up from a foreclosure and be able to buy again, those families will continue to be a demand on the rental market for several years.

Big business are building apartments like crazy. The space next to the shop space you looked at with me is about to become apartments. The county guy at Douglas county says they are going up all over. This means rents are high and expected to stay that way for a while.

You can still find well priced places if you look hard enough and have some patience. We're in North Carolina, but in the area we're in things are similarly priced to CO (not talking about the hyped up places like Denver, Boulder, etc). We pay $700 a month for a 3 bed/2 bath... it's a smaller house, and its an older one too, but it sits on 22 acres worth of stocked ponds and tree stands.

With all the rentals being used as grow houses, rentals are hard to find and expensive around here.

While I was looking for a shop space I came across a group of garages that looked empty. Only one space looked to be in use. I asked there who to contact to rent the other spaces and found out that all four were growing MJ. Silly me, that is when I noticed the smell.

I'm honestly surprised I can still barely afford mine... It's not cheap...

Housing market is going HOT too. Almost 8000 houses under contract at the moment. Normally, metro area only sees 2500-4000/month. Inflation is coming.

What are you looking for? I have a 1500 square foot house I would probably rent out. 3 bed 2 1/2 bath

Personally I pay $1050 / mo for a 2br 2ba condo on a golf course with a garage. Just renewed the lease and the owner didn't try to raise the rent at all.

Spleify's house is solid. I looked into renting it before my wife and I just bought one that we found. Glad we bought when we did. My landlord in Wheat Ridge was trying to raise the rent $250-$300 on my townhouse that we were living in.

Are most of the houses on craigslist a scam? They all involve somebody who does not live in town and cannot show the house. Send your rent and deposit and we will send keys.

A lot of them are scams. I found my place on craigslist though. Try and find a neighborhood you want specifically and then type that in. Also, I never take the time to email back and fourth... I pick an area I'd like to live in, email them asking when they have some time to show if. If they say they wont be there... Scam. If they say here's a virtual tour... Scam. If they're not willing to meet you at the property and show you around right off the back then it's either a scam from nigeria or they don't want to rent it.
