Another stupid question (this time about forarm length) from a builder newbie

Carbine length, midlenth, rifle length. I assume these each relate to a barell length. Is it carbine = 16", midlength = 18", rifle length = 20"+?

I has nothing to do with the barrel length. It has everything to do with the gas port location.

Not very popular anymore, but you can even get rifle length gas port on a 16" barrel. - The original dissipator- had this.

Carbine gas, rifle length sights.
In the unique Dissipator, gas block placement is under the rifle length handguards to offer reliable cycling, the accuaracy of the full sight radius, and cool operation.
