"He reportedly told police that he later changed his mind, opting for a mass shooting at the local Walmart "because if he ran out of ammunition he would be able to break the glass where the ammunition is stored and get more."
jokes on him walmarts ALWAYS sold out [Tooth]
I went and took my sister to go and see it for her birthday yesterday. I didnt see anything out of the ordinary, checked the exits and watched "sketchy" guys but never felt like we should get out of there. course then again we live in a smaller town. seems like everytime something like this comes up is always in the bigger cities.
^That'd be a great training scenerio for the ones who carry at Walmart. Guy comes into Walmart to shoot people and gets shot himself.
That report seemed like 75% about how awesome twilight is.

Carry everywhere. Always. There are no safe places anymore. I am sure I am preaching to the choir here, though! [Beer]
Amen brother. In today's day and age, it's just basic common sense to be armed at all times no matter how nice a locale. If for no other reason than you may be able to intervene in someone else's potential tragedy, if not your own. I keep thinking how many of these mass shooings could've averted or lessened if somebody else there had been armed. It makes cops twitchy to think about ordinary citizens reacting with force to those situations, but the fact is that Joe Q Citizen is the first person with immediate access to the perp. If more people were armed and trained to use their firearms correctly, I 'd breathe much easier.

But there are signs that say NO GUNS.
So you'll be fine.

if its concealed how would they know? last I checked movie theaters dont have metal detectors....yet. plus if something did happen and you pulled your weapon you'd get a slap on the wrist and a "well you shouldnt have had a gun BUT thank god you did!"
or it could go the other way "You had a gun! it would not have been as bad if you had not pulled yours!" so I suppose I can see both sides of the argument.

What ifs are stupid, that's all I want is a bunch of people shooting in a dark theater packed with people... I do think if he tried it at Wal-Mart he'd have been dealt with quickly.

As one of the first responders(to the Aurora shooting) that also happens to be a firearms instructor pointed out, the muzzle flash on an active shooter's weapon makes a pretty good target, even if he's armored up.

Don't think that most CCW holders have been in an active shooter situation, and if 10 people are shooting in a crowded theater? I thought he had smoke grenades? I carry, but every one thinks that a shoot out is easy... The theater one is a scenario I would prefer not to have to do..I thought he had a Army LBE? I like the idea of free tickets for LE that take their weapons in..

Granted, it would be a very bad situation, but if for some reason I felt the need to be in a theater, I'd much rather be equipped to do something than not. Directly behind the muzzle is the face, usually a soft target. Still, the easiest fight to win is the one you avoid. I avoid large crowds by preference.

Well...I would rather live in a country where everyone has "free access to weapons, ammunition, and explosives —" rather than the countries where just the psychopaths have them.
Luckily what people that write statements like that do not realize that anyone with time, a little education, and a trip to Walmart and Walgreens can probably have all three in pretty short order.
Ignorance can be cured, but stupid will always be stupid.
