I have a DPMS LR308B. I really like it, and it's good for about 3/4 MOA. I've been having problems with the bolt catch holding the bolt back on an empty mag. It also is often difficult or impossible to convince it to hold the bolt back even when doing it by hand. I've replaced the bolt catch once, without improvement. Has anyone gone with an aftermarket BCG? I'm wondering if that would be my answer.

I had that similar issue with 1 of my dpms builds recently. I noticed it happened every time I started shooting for the day. After a few hours the bolt catch would work all of the sudden. figured out that too much grease on the bottom was causing it to not catch after the final round.

Thanks. I'll give that a try. I run it pretty wet, so maybe that's the problem.

Did you put an aftermarket buttstock on it? This was my problem.

I put a magpul prs on my LR308 (bought used without the screw that comes with a new one) and the dpms stock screw was too long, not allowing the buffer to go back all the way, in turn not allowing the bolt to go back far enough for the bolt catch to, well, catch the bolt on the last round. Found a shorter one at Ace hardware and it's flawless now. If the above issue doesn't work, try backing off the stock screw and see if it catches when you cycle it by hand.

I'll try that. I have the PRS on mine as well...
thanks!

Did you play around with it to see?

I have the opposite problem, my bolt catches and I have to pound it very hard to let go. Figured mine was just newness.
